Well, the window for ADRs for T-giving dinner has now opened...and I find I'm "dithering" about where to book us...so I thought I'd come here and get recommendations...

I find my "attitudes" towards all things Disney is noticeably different now that we're part of DVC...hard to articulate how & why (but it's all good!), but it makes me want DVC rec's rather than "dining rec's"...

Anyway, there will be 2 of us for sure; possibly 6...(I'll book for 6 and change later when my father, brother & family make a final decision about whether to join us at Disney for T-giving)....DS and I will stay at SSR--DS is 20; the youngest in our party is 14...one is likely to stay off-site; the others will probably be at POR or a value...

I "crave" a traditional T-giving dinner...roast turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls & pumpkin pie...my family, however, while happy to eat the traditional meal, also likes "other fancy"--steak, lobster, prime rib...if possible, we'd like to go someplace where we have the choice.

Some of us will be on the dining plan; some won't (we're not staying in the same housing)...

What would you do?

THANKS!

OOPS: Just counted again...we're at 7 months (I'm used to DVC "windows,")not six months...so I still have almost a month to go before I can book T-giving dinner...but I'd still love to hear what you-all recommend, if you're willing...

We ate at the Yacht Club Galley last year for Thanksgiving. It was very nice. We had one of the earliest seatings, so we had ample food on the buffet. I heard that diners later in the day had less choice and in some cases very limited choices.

Now, we have to decide where we are eating this year at Thanksgiving.

Not sure if the menu is the same for Thanksgiving, but we ate our Christmas dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK and it was wonderful! All the traditional things, though I don't remember pumpkin pie.

I would imagine they would also do something very similar for Thanksgiving. The theming of the restaurant is perfect too. :thumbsup2

we ate Thanksgiving dinner last year at LTT. We slept in. Watched the Macy's Day Parade from our 2 br villa at OKW and then went to the MK to watch the afternoon parade and do some things until our 7:30 ressie. It was a little late for us to eat abut the ambience was PERFECT for Thanksgiving. We will going back this year but leaving the day before T'giving. Good Luck!
There was apple cobbler but my DH asked for Pumpkin pie and he remembers them having it. Im not so sure. There was turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing and rolls but no non-traditional choices. Its a family style buffet. Characters are all dressed up in very early american settler garb. VERY CUTE!!

I sure may be incorrect, but won't ADR's for Thanksgiving open in May (6 months out) and not April?

Thanksgiving reservations open up May 22nd...I already have the date marked on my day planner :hourglass

I have the date on my calendar marked too!!!

We will be dining with a group of 16 and I've narrowed our choices down to Cape May or Yacht Club Galley. I like that these will both be buffets with traditional T-day fixings plus other dishes. I think a buffet will be best for our large group to please everyone. Plus we are staying at BWV so it will be close and I don't want to be in a park on T-day.

MinnieGi,

We are going to the Yacht Club Galley...hopefully for a 5:00 dinner.
Our plans are to sleep in a bit, spend some time at Typhoon Lagoon or Disney Quest as we figured that these would be a better bet than the parks, and then take our time with dinner and maybe go see the lights at MGM.

Maybe we will see you there :)
