Dvc

Yes, the membership ends. Currently membership will end in 2042, 2054 or 2057, depending upon which resort you own.

Basically DVC is a timeshare built upon land land leased from Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or another operating company. When the land lease is up, the resort reverts to the land owner. However, after about 50 years of operation, even the most well kept timeshares would be in need of major costly rehabs to bring them up to the expected "norms" of the day. For instance, they may need re-wiring for super high speed technologies, etc.

Like other timeshares, you can leave your DVC interest to your heirs, but they will expire on their given date, unless the leases are extended, that has happened at Old Key West, the lease was extended from 2042 to 2057, original purchasers were offered the chance to extend their interest for the additional 15 years for a fee.

Depends on the contract, but they all end either 2042(all others), 2054(SSR), or 2057(AKL and extended OKW). At that time, ownership of all points revert back to Disney. It has to do with the fact that Disney Vacation Development has only leased the locations for that length of time.

you dont have the dues for the rest of your life and after 50 years it is too hard to tell with other timeshares outside disney, whether you will like them or not. dvc is the most flexible. I looked at most of the other timeshares and came back to disney due to the flexibility. if you have questions and interested in dvc , call dvc Mike Johnson 1800 500 3991.
