what is this DVC you all talk about and how do i go about joining???? How much does it cost and can you join online????

It's Disney Vacation Club. I'm not a member so I'm not the right person to ask, but a lot of people on these boards are.

If you go to the main DIS discussion forums page you will find DVC forums. You will find a lot of info there.

In simple terms, you are buying a time share. You purchase a number of points. Different DVC resorts use a different amount of points per night to stay there.

Example:

You purchase 200 (this gives you 200 points per year) at $90 per point. This will cost you $18,000.00. Depending on what DVC resort you purchase, these points will expire either in the year 2046 or 2054.

There is SOOOOOOOOO much more to this. You wanted a general idea how much it cost to get in and that's what I gave you. Please go to the DVC forums for more in depth information if it is something you would be interested in.

Come on over to the DVC boards (further down from your main selection page)

also visit www.dvc.com

Disney Vacation Club is a timeshare done Disney style.

Saratoga Springs is what Disney is offering for sale right now and is in the process of completion. These resorts are geared specifically for DVC owners, although others can stay. a studio starts with a kitchenette and a larger than normal hotel room, then theres a 1 bedroom which has a living room and bedroom with whirlpool tub, it goes on to 2 bedrooms and 3 bdroom grand villas which sleep 12. If you like the resorts, but don't want to buy in yu can look into renting points, cheaper than Disney prices.

You can buy direct from Disney or from a resale company. The sponsor of the DVC boards here on the DIS is The Timeshare Store, and no mention of other resalers is allowed (something I disagree with) feel free to Google "Disney DVC" for other resalers.

I suggest starting by calling Disney DVC (keep in mind its a sales person you'll be talking to) ask them for info, they will mail yu a beautiful book and a DVD, the DVDs best part is its final section where it describes how points work.

Oh- and watch out for those who see that your thinking of buying and push to have you use them as a reference (They can get as much as $1000 off their dues if you sign) use the reference you would like, IF you know a DVC member.

Im in the process now of waiting for a resale to make it passed Disney's Right of First Refusal.

If I can help in any way just PM me.

I joined the DVC in June, 2005, only wish I joined sooner.
