Good day,
We took the tour in 2001 (our first trip since our 1997 Honeymoon  ). Not really interested at the time (school loans x2 and a home to purchase). I found the DVC boards the other week, and have started to rethink it. Other than the owner interest in DVC property, what other benefits are offered to DVC members?
And let me say: we've been reading up on various threads in the recent past, and they've been VERY helpful. Our thanks to all!

Never decide to purchase DVC based upon member perks, they can (and do) change.

Currently there is a $100 discount on Annual Passes and $125 discount on Premium APs. There are miscellaneous shopping and dining discounts that change often, you will be given a current list when you check-in. There are some discounts on diving at the Living Seas, and other special tours. DVC members staying onsite get the same onsite perks (pkg delivery, room charge, free parking, etc) as all onsite WDW guests. DVCers also get free valet parking at the DVC resorts that offer valet service, but NOT at the regular WDW resorts.

Very true, didn't mean to mislead anyone. Like when we were choosing colleges: pick the best program for you. Oh, they compete in your favorite sport? An added bonus (but not the reason to go there).
How far out can you book with DCL as a DVC member? I'd think 7 months, since it isn't your home resort?
Thanks to all

I think the cruises can be booked 2 years in advance. It has nothing to do with your home resort. If your staying at WDW, you can book at your home resort 11 months before arrival & 7 months at the other resorts.

The biggest benefit I see is that for the $1,500 in maintenance fees that we paid this year we're able to do one week in May, one week in October, and one week in December. Both the May and October trips are/were split between a studio and two-bedroom unit (since others are/were joining us).

One week in a regular room at Wilderness Lodge in early December (our December trip is VWL) is $1,425 (plus applicable taxes).

IMHO, the best benefit is the discount on APs/PAPs.

As already posted, the perks and discounts are not guaranteed. They can and have changed without notice.

Below is a link to a pretty good summary of the current DVC discounts - I like it because it compares the DVC discounts to the AP and DDE discounts, which many DVC members also have.

WDW Discounts

Best wishes -
