I am waitlisting for a 2 BR at AKL for 1 night during June. I keep going to the DVC website to see if it's come through (obviously, it hasn't...:sad2: ). My question is: does the website update immediately or does it only update overnight? Am I wasting my time checking several times during the day??? :rolleyes1

Thanks! Kim

They say that it's immediate but I question that. They have a wait-list team who works on wait-lists so I can see some delays.

I don't think that it's immediate. We were on a waitlist for VWL. When we called they said our room came through. I went onto the website about 1/2 hour after and it wasn't showing. So, I don't think it's immediate. I think it took a few hours to show.

I'm not sure how often it updates but I had checked ours in the morning and then later in the day checked again and it had come through.:confused3

I've had a reservation change during the day also.

Right now, I just have a single day, waiting for a savannah view studio for friends, they have a standard view studio. I had 2 studios waitlisted and the other came through rather quickly.

Thanks for the info!! I know that I shouldn't keep checking, but I just can't help myself!!!

If it's the mouse behind the curtain, it will be same day. The reason I say this is because when MS's makes changes, it updates immediately. If the list is handled manually, all someone's doing is going in and processing the change. IMHO, this is how I believe it's happening.

However, if these are "batched" and placed into the system overnight, the system wouldn't update till the next morning. I'd check morning and evening, and that will cover you either way. Also, you should see some activity 31 days out. That's when people have to cancel or their points go into holding. I'm not 100% sure how it works :confused3 , but if you want to stay on the list 30 days out, I think you need to call MS and tell them you want to stay on the list. Then, I think the next trigger is 7 days out, but you would have to ask them. I'd hate for you to want to stay on the waitlist and be removed without your knowledge.

Sending some extra pixie dust your way in hopes your waitlist comes through! pixiedust:

Thankfully, they asked me if I wanted the waitlist to last until 30 days out or 7 days out. I told them 7. Each time I call to change an ADR or something, I confirm that the waitlist is still there. Silly, I know, but we are really wanting this extra night....:lovestruc

I'd check morning and evening, and that will cover you either way.

I'll try to restrain myself to only check twice a day!
