DVC Veteran's advice needed

Hi and thanks for looking, this Christmas coming up 2011 we are staying again at BLT again.. We do 2 weeks at BLT every year.. I think the best weeks are the week before Christmas and the last week in August before the Big Holiday..

This year with work schedule I can only do the Christmas vacation starting on Dec. 23 check in Friday, and stay for 7 nites.

How busy will Christmas eve and Day be due to the fact that the 25Th is on a Sunday ? I could have grabbed anything 1 or 2 br up till the 28th, then it was only a 1 br 28 and after.

Do you think the Newyear will be more busy than Christmas ??

I am familiar with Christmas week, I am used to the 70, 000 plus attendences, just seems like with the Christmas holiday on the weekend, most people are loading up towards the New Year..

Christmas day and New Years will probbaly be very busy no matter what day of the week it falls on. The week of Christmas is the busiest week for Disney. Depending on the park you go into you should be there by 10:00 so you do not get locked out. We went this past year and some of the parks were starting the lock out process since they were near capacity.

There are 4 stages I am sure someone will come along with it. But the week between Christmas and New Years will be the busiest of the year no matter what days it falls on, becasue a lot of people have that time off.

When the crowds are larger than the park(s) can handle, sometimes Disney will close a park. The method they use to close the park are similar to this:

Stage 1: In this first phase the parking lot is closed and you will only be admitted using Disney transportation.
Stage 2: The ticket windows are closed (including automatic Ticket Vending Machines) so in this phase, if you don’t already have a ticket for that park, you will not get in. Guests who are re-entering the same park on the same day will be admitted, as will Disney resort guests, Annual Passholders, and guests already holding Park Hoppers.
Stage 3: Only those who are Disney resort guests or Annual Passholders will be admitted.
Stage 4: The park is closed to all incoming guests. There is no incoming transportation of any kind.
