with our DVC membership I know that we get complimentary valet parking at all resorts that offer it.

My question is this. Is there a limited time you can leave your car at valet parking?

EG we have reservations at Chef Mickeys for breakfast - can we use Valet parking and leave the car while we go to MK = or do I collect the car after and park and TTC?

Would whatever the answer is apply at all resorts - Poly, AKL etc?

Also, how much do you tip Valet Parking?

I thought the free valet parking was only for DVC resorts :confused3 .....if it's at all resorts that have valet parking :woohoo: ....

As far as leaving the car... the last time we went to breakfast at chef mickeys...we were given a 3 hr i think pass to put on the car...after breakfast we moved the car over to the MK parking lot...

You get free valet only at DVC resorts (thus not the Poly). Also, you will not get any free valet at the Contemporary before BLT opens in August.

As to how long you can valet park at a resort at which you are not staying, that is really a resort issue and not a DVC issue. For example, at the Contemporary to park you need a restaurant ressie or other valid basis for being at the Contemporary and you are supposed to use any parking, valet or otherwise, only for time you are there. However, they really don't sit there and count the hours if you valet park.

Tipping on average would be $3 when the car is returned to you, some do less, some more, some tip both ways.

You only get free Valet at DVC resorts that offer the service, not regular Disney resorts. And I would not expect the Contemporary to offer free valet until the DVC tower actually opens.

You will not receive free valet at the Poly or Grand Floridian as they do not have a DVC component.

Unless there is a special reason for you to drive to Chef Mickey's, I would take a MK bus from your resort, then monorail over to the Contemporary for Breakfast. Be sure to allow enough time.

If you must drive, then I would either park in the TTC lot, and monorail over to the Contemporary, park in the regular Contemporary lot and move the car after breakfast, or if your trip is after the Bay Lake Tower opens, then you could probably make use of the valet and leave the car, though nothing official has been announced about the Contemporary Valet and DVC. They could consider the BLT tower and Contemporary separate entities, sharing transportation only. If so, it is possible (but unlikely) the valet would not be offered to DVC, as it really isn't that convenient to valet at the original Contemporary tower and then walk over to the DVC building.

sorry - forgot it was only at DVC resorts....... looks as though I will just park at TTC for Chef Mickeys then go onto MK afterwards!!!

thanks again!!!!

In one of the Vacation Magic or Disney Files, management made it clear to DVC members that this perk was not supposed to be used for theme park visits, only to visit the resort where you valet parked.

We were at home from Feb. 1 - Feb 11. :goodvibes We had many great breakfasts and dinners, :thumbsup2 we were on Deluxe DP, and used Valet service alot.:cool1: We bought a Tables in Wonderland card  for $60 and it allowed us to use valet parking at any resort, DVC or not. :dance3: Didn't need it at DVC resorts but saved $10 at all others. Here is the but.. when we dined at non DVC resorts they put a piece of paper on your dash that said " Only good for 3 hour stay". So maybe you would be ok to leave the car with valet and head for a park and maybe not,:confused3 we never tried as we always came back after the meal.

Joy on your trip.:dance3: If you spend anytime in a car and want to use valet, get the card. Oh you will save money on meals at many resturants using the card, which is what the card was designed for, it just has this great advantage for valet service.:cool1:

As others have noted, there is no free valet parking right now at the Contemporary for DVC members, though you do qualify if you have a Tables in Wonderland card and eat at Chef Mickey's. Incidentally, I've been asked for a receipt when picking up the car at a monorail resort to verify I actually ate, but I haven't been asked at an Epcot resort.

I think I read somewhere that valet parking will be offered for BLT at the Contemporary, so once BLT opens, they may offer the free perk, too.

Now, for length of time: I've no moral qualms leaving my car at an Epcot or Monorail resort if I have valet parked and if I have had legitimate reasons at that resort (eating, shopping, meeting someone). As long as I know I'm not robbing someone else of a parking spot (which I'm not if I valet) and I tip the Valet, no one is caused any pain nor is any entity deprived of income since I qualify for free parking anywhere on property. That said, I probably wouldn't do that on a peak day like July 4, Christmas, etc. YMMV.

I have TIW card also - I forgot that you get free valet anywhere (when you dine there) that has it with that!!

I am staying offsite in May so will need to drive to the parks!!
