My girlfriend and I are going to Disney this week and she would like to check out DVC can she take the tour and gather info. without her husband with her. We are going with no husbands or kids Also, what is the incentive now for just taking the tour?
Not sure that she would want to, but just out of curiosity, is there a reason why not? Don't they send the paperwork to your home to sign anyway, even if you purchase on site?
Only sticking point may be the financial part, but if she financially qualifies (assuming she's getting a loan) on her own, I can't image she couldn't start the process. You sure made me think about this one!!!
To the OP, we only got some minor incentives - free ice cream, fast passes, a nice DVC hardback book (sales promotional literature). But, it was a nice tour, and I'm glad we did it. Hope she enjoys the tour!!!
Usually for taking the tour they give you something small for your time. These have been anywhere from $25 Disney gift cards to 3 immediate use fast passes good for three days for each person in your touring group.
If she is interested she should take the tour. Don't know about the husband issue, but I know I can make the call to my guide when we are ready to buy and say "lets buy". I don't think I need him on the phone, so I don't quite understand why her husband needs to be there.
Other timeshares are notorious for insisting that both husband and wife be on-hand for a presentation but I have never heard of DVC doing that. And they will sell to anyone who passes the credit check. If someone chooses buy without even listing a spouse on the deed, he/she is free to do so.
We took the tour together once and I took it separately alone before we purchased. I don't know if it mattered that we'd already been there together or not, but they had no problem showing me the models when I was there by myself.
