I have already bought into DVC, but I never did the tour. My husband and I are thinking about adding on some more points in a year or two and are trying to decide where we would want those points to be. Does the DVC tour take you to some of the different room locations or have model rooms? We are trying to stay at many of the different resorts but won't get to them all before then.

You can ask to see the different resorts and they'll actually take you to them. Last year I had someone drive me over to AK and a guide walk me around. If you go to the SSR room you can see a demo of AK and BLT room (well that was years ago - not sure what "rooms' they have now.

In Nov we saw the same rooms at SSR, but we bought OKW sight unseen.

If you already bougtht into DVC I dont think you'll get much more then you can obtain from the DVC web site. On the web-site you can look at the rooms and for the most part there all the same lay-out just different themes based on the resort. Of course this is just my opinion, but I dont see much of a need unless you had specific questions about the DVC.. Good Luck

The rooms always look so different to me in the pictures then they do in person. This is why I wanted to see the different resorts rooms.

BWV still has a model open that you can walk thru. At the SSR DVC sales center you can see AKV and BLT (I believe). Other than that you may have to stop by the other resorts and see if someone at the resort is able to show you a room.

as an owner, you really aren't supposed to take the tour. there are specific times set aside for current owners to tour the model villas at SSR (so that you don't waste a guide's time.)

i would stop by the BWV model as suggested and go to the owners' hours at SSR if you like...but other than that, i'd just look at pics online and go with that. that's your best bet...

Can you still schedule the tour for BLT? And if you can are they still giving out Fast Passes or gift cards? Is it best to call your guide to schedule?
We will in the World starting next weekend and Saturday is kind of a free day for us.

You are far better of visiting the resorts you are interested in and walking around the property as the rooms are all about the same with the excetion of OKW.
It is not going to be the room that matters in the end it is how much you enjoy the resort.
examples:
The rooms at SSR have nicer decor then others but some dislike the size of the resort
the rooms at BLT have poor layouts and worse decor but some love being able to walk to MK

Yes they are still doing the DVC events at BTL. When we were there at spring break (last week of March), they were offering the tour 3 times a week (I believe Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays).

YES, you still get the instant fps (3 per person - good for 4 days) when you attend these events. Plus, they've improved the snacks. popcorn:: The snacks used to be little finger sandwiches which I didn't like. Now it's sweets and lots of choices.

I love being able to go up to the Top of the World lounge and take pictures and see everything. Plus they have fun games and lots of giveaways as well as gifts for all adults who attend (bag, calendar, etc.).

They also offer deals for those attending these events. We also attended at Christmas and bought additional points at our home resort - AKV. We got them for the same price we had bought them at 3 years ago!

To sign up for the DVC event at BLT, just hit the DVC button in your resort room or stop by one of the many DVC kiosks throughout the parks and resorts.

I've stayed at all the DVC Hotels in Orlando, never outside and have found all of them to be clean and extremely nice. However I still found the layouts to be just about the same. The difference came with views, for some thats not a big deal and to others it matters alot. Li:banana::banana:ke someone else mentioned in this thread there are models at the Boardwalk. But as you noted in the original post you've already bought into the club.

We are arriving Friday nite late and staying offsite for one nite then checking in at AKV Saturday. I thought before check in we could make arrangements to take the tour since we have nothing else planned except grocery shopping and Hoop De Doo at nite. So I guess what I need to know is what is the best way for me to make reservations for the tour?

Your best bet is to walk through BWV, do the owner open house at the Preview Center and schedule split stay vacations at any other resort that you are interested in. The room layouts of BWV, BCV, and VWL are similar. I would tell you to contact your Guide, but if you tell him that you don't want to buy for 2 years, he/she may not take the time to meet with you.

Just got back from SSR. They have 3 models set up: Aulani, AKV-Kidani and BLT. All so wonderful! Only thing we didn't like about Aulani is that it is like most DVC resorts where there is only one shower in the one bedroom unit. AKV and BLT have two showers in the one bedroom.

I've been buttering my husband up to the idea of an add on now that our daughter is older and wants to bring friends. He couldn't grasp my explanation of a 2 bedroom dedicated vs 2 bedroom lock off so I had him call the preview center to see when we could go over because I could not remember what times members could walk through. They said members could go at any time. When we arrived we were disappointed to see it said "by appointment only", so we told the CM outside that we had called and were instructed to come by any time. He directed us over to the sales center and they arranged for someone to bring us through within minutes. We told them the truth... that I was trying to explain what a 2 bedroom lock off was and that we just wanted to get an idea of what they looked like. They were more than happy to take us through. We were excited to see the Aulani models open. They told us they had only been opened for 3 days. The rooms look beautiful! Unfortunately our guide wasn't available, but another was more than happy to get us some add on pricing for reference.
