DVC Tour

I am not sure if this is the right board to ask this on and I am sure some people might think it is a tacky questions but I am still going to ask...

What incentives have they been giving recently to people who take the DVC tours?

We are flying in early and have a day and a half to hang out at the resorts. We have talked about taking a DVC tour every year but never want to take time out of our park time to do it. Since we have the extra time, we were thinking about trying to do one of the tours.

We would take the tour regardless but it would be nice to know what sort of incentives, if any, they give to people who are taking the tours.

Also, we are staying at the Pop for this part of the stay and are wondering where is the best place to go to ask about a tour? We will not have tickets during this time since our package doesn't start right away.

It can range from nothing (ok, I lied - everyone gets free ice cream) to gift cards to fast passes. It just depends what they're doing at the time, how much they think they need to sell you, too, I'm sure.

We were just (in February) given a choice of three VIP fastpasses, per person, or a $30 gift card.

They also still have the $100 gift card promo in some of the rooms.

At every single resort, there will be a DVC kiosk. You can set your tour up there at Pop. There are also kiosks in the parks and DTD. At Pop the kiosk is near the front desk.

We just returned today and took the tour. They gave everyone free ice cream and three free VIP fast passes per person. They were awesome! I did end up becoming a DVC member so they gave us 18 free fast passes that worked anywhere. It was a very nice treat! The tour is easy and you get to see mock-ups of AKL and the new Bay View at Contemporary. We bought into BAy View thinking that they will fill up more quickly since they are on the monorail....but both are gorgeous!

Congratulations!! It's actually called Bay Lake Tower or BLT as it's referred to here.

Nope, not everyone gets ice cream. My family didn't. The parlor was closed. No fast passes, no gift cards either.

We got gift cards and ice cream If I may make another suggestion... they will pick you up and drop you off anywhere you want. If you have an ADR at another resort that would be the perfect afternoon to take the tour... cause it will save you the mind numbing and time consuming bus trip!
