DVC Tour

I've been thinking about buying into DVC. How do I set up a tour, how long are the tours, can you take a child on the tour with you? (I have a 9 year old son) This August will our first trip to WDW. Please help.

We took the tour at VB and the sales reps actually watch and occupied my 2 DD's at the time!!!!!! We scheduled it when we were at the resort. They had a room for the girls with games and toys and of course, Disney movies...along with juice boxes and snacks!!! They had a great time... We bought OKW but I would like to add-on at VB...just have to convince my DH!!

It takes about 2 hours and yes they have a place for the children to play while you do all the "Boring" parent stuff. My son wanted to stay and play longer.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, just stop by the DVC table at the resort and they will be glad to sign you up for a tour. If not, there are booths in all the parks and at Downtown Disney. In addition, they can answer any preliminary questions you may have. But of course we will take care of those questions for you :)

We just walked up to the DVC desk in the WL lobby. They made us an appointment and sent us over to the Villas next door. The CM in the Villas lobby showed us a set up (Studio, 1 bedroom & how they become a 2 bedroom). When we came out of there a van was waiting for us to take us over to the main DVC offices at the BW. We all got a snack and our 2 kids went into a play area with movies, Nintendo and crafts. We hooked up with a guide and about 1 1/2 hours latter we had put a down payment and had been approved for a mortgage (on a Sunday!)on 200 points. It would have been shorter, but we kept stopping to get a look at the kids. They had a ball, made some friends and did want to leave when done. It was a cold rainy day, so we did not mind the time away from the parks. They gave us 2 sets of Fastpass's for any ride we wanted. We chose Test Track and Tower of Terror.

The guide was very low pressure. We all actually had a good time. Total time was about 3 hours.

BTW junkie, if you take the tour and want to finance through Disney they do have a special lower interest rate for 30 days after the tour but don't delay they are very strict if you should let it lapse.

We just dropped by the BWV sales office and two hours later we were owners! So unless you are stong willed leave the credit cards and check book at home.

I don't know why, but when my husband went to talk with our DVC guide, a van just picked him up at WL, and took him to BWV, where he was taken into an office and told him about DVC. He didn't get a tour of any of the rooms, or any cool goodies like FastPass tickets or a free lunch. Maybe because we were staying in a 2 BR at VWL she figured we all ready knew what the rooms looked like, but it would have been nice to have seen a studio, at least.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

A 2 bedroom at the VWL is a Studio and 1 bedroom with a connecting door.

I know that about the studios now, but I didn't know it then. I just feel like we got a presentation, but not a tour. Hope we at least get a tote bag when we join!

Thanks for all the replies! We'll be there for almost 3 weeks in August. I'll be sure to do a tour. Who knows I may come back an owner!:bounce: :smooth: :bounce:
