DVC to MDE info transfer I just found out after 15 years

I had a reservation that I linked to MDE. This morning, in front of the screen at 5:30 to get Chef Mickey reservations, a friend and I couldn't figure out how to enable her to make a reservation too. (She ended up having to call at 7, and was successful.) We have been members before they went online, her since DVC was created and me about 15 years.

Here's the catch.... make sure to have all your guests on your reservation before linking the reservation to MDE! I had placed her on our reservation later so she would have the resort advantage and thought that would be good, nope. I didn't know that you have to call ms if you add people to your reservation; it is not automatically updated on MDE. I guess this is the first time either of us ran into this issue.

This showed up for us because we are a large group and I wasn't able to get the table for all of us at the time we wanted, so we split the reservation.
 
When you change or add the names, if you go on the Disney website and access your plans this way, it will allow you to update the guests.

I have to do this all the time!

If you mean go to the DVC website you can add names no problem, and I did that. The problem arises when you link it to MDE and then add names. The new names will not transfer to MDE without the phone call. Or are you talking about a different Disney site?

I am talking in My plans on MDE…not the app though. Once I change hames or add them, and go to the regular WDW site and log in, it then allows me to update the reservation with the new guests.

Never had to call. I just update the names online. Here is the note I get once I add the new names on DVC, and it updates in MDE.

As I said, I have to do it on the Website.

I'll test that out. Neither of us thought of that, I guess. The CM didn't suggest it either, said it had to be with a call if it is already linked to MDE..

I gave it a try, and no luck finding anywhere to add names to my hotel reservation; I could add to the dinning reservation.
At least I was able to add them by phone. I'll have to play around with it some more.
Is your regular WDW site the DVC one?

Sorry. I have to add them on the DVC site first by modifying my trip. Once done, it automatically updated in MDE to show the new guests.

Then I go to The WDW site, which is the main Disney site.

Once there, I go to My plans, and I get the note to match to my Friends and Family list. I do this all the time because I book all my trips with only me to start and link them right away.

Oh my goodness!!!!! That was so easy!! The cm I spoke to needs to talk to you! We would have saved so much time and aggravation when we tried to make the Chef Mickey's reservations. Thanks for sharing all that. I will now pass this on to my friend.
