DVC through RCI another question

I wonder if anyone can help with this. We were able to find a 2 BR at SSR for the first week of November. The check in day is Friday. (We were hoping for Sat or Sun, but November seems super limited so we grabbed it, still have 24 hours to cancel tho) Anyway my question is this... My parents are willing to fly down and check in Friday. Most likely with my family driving down we would not arrive til Sat or Sunday. Can you add nights on to a reservation like this? Like mom checks in Friday, but we don't have to check out til following Sat or Sun? My parents are RCI points.

No. Your nights will only be those you traded for. In all likelihood, there won't be anything available to add last minute.

I often trade in through RCI and then add nights directly via DVC points. We've always been able to remain in the same room although we are given new room keys when crossing from the RCI reservation to the DVC reservation.

I'm guessing you might be able to do similar linking a cash reservation to the RCI reservation?

yep. there's nothing you can do directly through RCI but you can rent a pts reservation or book a cash room directly with disney and try to link the 2 reservations. you will likely have to check out and back in, but you have at least a chance (no guarantees) about staying in the same villa.

Good to know! Thanks. When looking for rentals is there any recommendations? Should I use davids vacation rentals? I think I've seen that around.

You can get it for Friday and check in on Sat. You don't lose it just because you arrive a day late. Do be sure to let them know though.

the last I saw they gave you the number on the RCI weeks side but not the RCI points side but you can call and get it.

I've traded in a couple of times. You have to call MS ahead and give them all the names of the people in your party anyway so you can ask then. They will give you a conf. number too so you can do online checkin.
