DVC tax system error

I just received two mails today, seems that DVC had a system error when calculating the property tax.

Anyone else received the same email?

Dear Xxxx Family,

We recently discovered a system error with property tax true-ups in our Annual Dues billing system. A true-up is when Disney Vacation Club reconciles the estimated property taxes against the actual costs billed and make adjustments for any difference.

This error impacted a small number of Members who purchased through the third-party resales market in the first year of purchase from 2014 to 2019. As a result, you will be receiving a credit in the amount of $31.62 that will be applied toward your future dues payments for property taxes.

If you have already paid your 2021 Annual Dues, the property tax credit will be applied towards your 2022 Annual Dues for property taxes. We will automatically deduct the credit in the billing next year. If you pay monthly, you will be able to use the credit against the property tax portion of each monthly payment. Our system will automatically process credits so no action is needed on your part.

DVC had retained the money during those years rather than credit the resale buyers on their next year's dues, as they had done in previous years.

Is this resort specific? I have one resale purchase during 2014-2019 - a smaller resale @ AKV which closed in 3/19 - & did not receive an email & I just checked my membership - no message about it either.

Edited to add: I checked under the annual dues tab rather than messages & I see that I do have a credit - to be applied next year. I pay mine once a year, I’m curious if those paying monthly are having their credit applied now.

Thanks OP for raising this, I didn't receive any emails, but when checking my DVC account I have received two credits for my resales, one for $34.82 and another for $8.42.

No, or rather yes but it's DVC. DVC didn't credit it to anyone in the year they should have - neither the new owner of the contract which the POS actually says is the one who will get the tax credit nor did they pay to the seller of the contracts. The one that kept the funds was DVC.

I got an email for one for $1.62 credit. But I am not sure which contract it ties to. I bought VGC in October 2017 and AKV in March 2019 via resale. I looked on the member site and have no idea where I might figure this out. Not that it is a big deal over $1.62.
