I dont know if this has been talked about or not, but I just had an interesting experience on the DVC website. I was asked to take a survey about the website on the usual topics like ease of use and page loading times etc.. What I chuckled out loud about was the question about which websites I visit and how often I visit them and why I visit them. Guess which website was at the top of the list. I'll give you a hint... I am posting on it right now! That's right it asked me if I use The Dis Boards. Big Brother has defenitely found our playground and they are watching.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I love these boards:banana::banana: Why do you think they want to know this info from us? What are they up too?:confused3

All the DVC surveys I've taken have that question...not sure where they're going with it, but they've been doing it for awhile! :)

I can guaran-darn-tee they read this board. I had posted a question about my DVC purchase and guide..not even MY guide...called me the next day..hunted me down pretty easily in the system. Guess I am maybe the only owner in NM :)

I have also taken that survey and almost fell out of the chair when i saw DIS on it. Ten minutes after it was posted about the changes to the points for resale i posted a question if they will be stalling ROFR to push people over the 3/20 deadline and not even a couple hours later the wording on the member site was updated and then updated again the next day.
The comments went up about the new mugs and (we males) complained about the somewhat "girly" design and two days later mugs with yellow handles and black lids started to show up in the stores...
I am glad they read here. I love Disney and want them to be totally successful in all ways and am happy that they are paying attention. It is free feedback and in most cases extremely detailed feedback, they would be crazy not to pay attention. :thumbsup2

Oh, they definitely read this board. I had posted a little while back about a great experience with my guide when we did our add-on (didn't realize we couldn't post the names of our guides in threads.) The thread was taken down, but when my guide had returned my call, she said one of the guys in the office let her know that we had posted something nice about her. (They had seen it before it was removed.) So that really confirmed to me that everything we put out there is being seen by the powers that be.

Now, what they do with that info is up for speculation. I hope they really do care what we think, but in the end I fear that they don't and just want to make as much money as they possibly can.

One possibility is they are feeling out the market base for a resales branch? I know something was mentioned at some point about them considering going into resales. Which, since they already re-sell contracts that forclose are acquired through ROFR, they're technically already IN the resales business. But with the big change coming, they could successfully compete with resales companies since their product comes with full benefits.

And the people who seem most likely to purchase resale are those who are smart enough to do their research. And if you're doing any kind of research on resales for DVC, then you're more than likely going to end up on Dis.

So perhaps they want to know how many of us are out here.

During our Christmas vacation at WDW, I had an issue with my reservations and dining plan. I posted all the problems for others to be made aware of and I got a call from member services telling me that they had read it on Dis. They also told me that the internet causes them a lot of problems by people who write about their misadventures at Disney

....(snip).....They also told me that the internet causes them a lot of problems by people who write about their misadventures at Disney

Yes, it's the internet's fault! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:woohoo: I am glad they fear the internet, gives them a much greater amount of accountability. I hope your response to MS was, "i am glad to hear it, gives you more reason to not make a mistake".

I did that survey too! I think it's good if they read these boards..maybe they can read this...UN-REALLOCATE THE POINT CHARTS! PLEASE!

I've taken that same survey recently. They really do watch these boards. I see things that we discuss happen way too many times at WDW not to bleieve that they are watching us. :magnify:

Sorry, I am going to ask the opposite. We stay two weekends with the five weekdays in between most of the time. So we actually ended up ahead after the point allocation. SO, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE THE POINT ALLOCATION!

I met someone who was previously on here and started her own Disney website/message board and said that Disney had bought the Dis. Don't know how she knew, or if it's true. But if Disney wants to know what their core customers want, this is the best place to find out! For a while there was a bring Phineas and Ferb to the parks thread going and now they are coming!

If you post it, it will come!

This is a great thread!

In 2002, dh and I spent our first evening of our trip strolling the boardwalk. While up on the porch/veranda at Boardwalk they had the group of saxophone players serenading the guests.

It was the most magical night I've ever had a Disney resort.

Please bring back musical performers to the Boardwalk...particularly during the last week of September. ;)

oh yeah...and please build a DVC on the Gulf Coast or Gatlinburg!! I think my sister would join!!
