DVC studios - do they have connecting rooms?

Hi, We have Interval searching for a 2 bedroom DVC resort that we can exchange into for April 2009. They called us today saying a 2 bedroom might be tough to get, but wanted to know if we would be interested in 2 studios as they might be easier to get. We are 2 adults and 3 children (under the age of 13) so we would need connecting rooms as a studio only sleeps 4 (or does it?).

Does anybody know if any of the DVC resorts have connecting studio villas (i.e. a door between them), and/or can we sleep 5 in a studio?

It appears studios have a mini fridge, coffee maker, sink, mic, etc.

The whole week with exchange fees would cost about $350, which I think is VERY good for a week stay at a DVC resort.

Any thoughts would be appreciated - thanks!

There are no connecting studios at any DVC resort. The studios sleep a maximum of 4, plus one child under 3.

There are 1-bedroom villas at AKV that will sleep 5, if you can get one of those.

the studios only connect to a 1-bedroom.

so no - the studios at all the DVC resort did not connect to each other.

it is way to early for most of the DVC resorts to be out. most people only make a request 11 months or later.

see if II has decided that AKV exist - if they do - then go for a 1-bedroom with it.

a 1-bedroom sleeps 5 at AKV.

forgot there is a studio at BWV that sleeps 5 - it is called a plus dedicated. but pretty sure that DVC does not exchange it. so II does not have any of it - that I know of.

Thanks for the info - I guess we will hold out for what we can get! I figure if things don't pan out by next Jan/Feb, we can stay at another timeshare - we like Calypso Cay and Grande Vista.....

Why not look for a 1 bedroom at a DVC resort? There you get a king-sized bed and a sofa that pulls out into a bed. At AKV they also have a chair that converts into a bed.

AKV are the only DVC 1-BR units that will sleep 5. All others only accommodate 4.
