Hi All,

Do all DVC rooms have a full kitchen? Even the studios? I am sorry if this is on the website already, but I am in the throws of planning my first vacation as an perspective owner!! I am a big fan of the dining plan, but might not need it if there are kitchens no matter where we stay!

Thanks!! :wave2:

No, the studios have a kitchenette, with a sink, fridge, coffee maker, microwave.

sorry, the studios only have a kitchenette. a small area with a fridge, sink microwave, toaster. it has cabinets with plenty sapce and all, and some paperplates, plastic tableware, etc. (of course, a coffe pot and mugs, glasses, etc.)

I know for sure a 1/2 gal but I'm thinking a whole gal will fit as well

are the studio fridges big enough to hold a gallon of milk?

It won't fit on the door, but it will fit in the bottom. Depending upon the particular model of fridge, you may need to remove the bottom shelf. Not really a problem.

The refrigerator is an undercounter style, so it is bigger than those cube ones you see in the hotel rooms. They usually have a small freezer section, too, about the size of two ice cube trays. But it isn't good for things like ice cream.

We were able to stick a pizza box in one of the studio fridges at AKV!

hey got a small one - bigger than a pint in it - on the side.

stay in studios alot - love 'em. You can cook in one. but generally bring my meals from home (frozen) so only need the microwave to warm them up.

now drive to WDW and it is around 10 hour trip - but if you are flying - then bring your own food is not reasonable for you.
wegoshop and gardengrocier - are both good

publix has premade meals. the ones in florida have even more.

It may not sound too appetizing to some, but things we have microwaved in the studio: Dinty Moore beef stew, cans of chili, chef boyardee ravioli, chicken ala king. we also have had tuna on toast for a meal.

when we are not on the DDP, we figure the $ we save on these meals helps pay the out of pocket meals we have ADRs for (Ohana, Prime time, Beirgarten, boma, whatever)!

We always stay in studios....I always get 1/2 gal. of milk 'cuz I know it fits in the door of the little frig...as someone else said a gal. would fit in the main part of the frig. The freezer is big enough to keep 1 ice cube tray and a large (24 count) box of frozen waffles if they're taken out of the box and just stored in their plastic wrapper. We always do breakfasts in the villa and utilize the toaster (bagels or frozen waffles) along with fresh fruit etc. There is plenty of room to chill bottles of water & beer or soda too. There would be room for a few other items (like lunch meats & cheeses) if we wanted to eat more in the room but we don't. When we went to HHI the kitchenette there has a lot more room (counter space) than most other DVC units and I made breakfast sandwiches by poaching eggs in the microwave & using the pre-cooked bacon that you microwave and put that along with a slice of cheese on toasted English Muffins. :thumbsup2 You can get quite creative with a toaster and a microwave.

FWIW we keep extra paper plates, silverware, sharp knives and microwavable containers in our Owners Locker because what is supplied in the studios is really usually only enough for 4 people for 1 night.
