DVC Studio or Moderate?

Planning a trip from 12/28-1/4... yes the craziest time of the year. Sadly unavoidable. That being said, we are planning to go to parks in the morning, so lunch around 2 and then relax. Most of our dining is out of park.

So, should I get the good deal on a Studio at Saratoga Springs or Old Key West, or pay $200 more for one of the moderates (maybe POFQ or CB w/ Skyliner)? We will be driving, so we will have a car if needed.

I would go with the Studio at OKW to have 2 real queen beds. I wouldn't want to have the 17 and 6 yr olds sharing a double sofa bed.

Two real beds and the parking fee is cheaper.

If you are planning on DVC points you are probably too late for SSR or OKW. Unless you are getting a confirmed reservation, you won't be booking any DVC resort on points.

If they are renting DVC points there is no parking fee.

Unlike the other DVCs, OKW has 2 real beds in studio rooms. SSR only does in renovated rooms, of which there are only a handful right now and you are extremely unlikely to get one.

If I had a car and was planning to mostly eat off site I would do OKW and get that huge balcony, but that's me.

Unless the OP can find a confirmed reservation for those dates, they’re not getting into a DVC resort via rental.

I've stayed in both-a moderate and an OKW studio. I'd pick the OKW studio for the balcony (although the balconies at OKW don't usually have great views, they're at least balconies to sit outside).

After showing my husband the available confirmed Saratoga Springs Studio, he opted for POFQ. The price difference is only $200 and there isn't an internal bus and there are two beds. Thanks, everyone for your input. I don't usually plan trips with this short of notice.
