Of what I've read, studio villas come with 4 plastic spoons, forks, bowls and plates. Stupid question, how do you go about getting more of these as I'm sure they are used pretty quickly? I've never stayed in a DVC room before. My first trip is in two weeks. Again, I'm sure this is a stupid question!

It varies by villa. Our last stay, at OKW, we had a large cup full of plastic utensils, but not one spoon. The cupboard was full of paper plates and bowls and 4 drinking glasses. There was plenty of paper towels, dish washing soap, shower amenities, and a few dish sponges.

Just call housekeeping for more paper goods. If you resort has a food court area, you can also grab some plastic silverware from there, if you like.

We keep a stash of coffee filters, extra paper plates & plastic silverware, some microwavable bowls (think Gladware) along with plastic cups and sharp knives in our Owners Locker. Before we had the Owners Locker I packed these items to bring with us in our luggage. I keep an inventory list for our OL so I know when I need to re-stock. It was always my understanding that they're supposed to supply 1 each of everything for a party of 4 and beyond that you're on your own. We only eat breakfasts in our villa and we're just a party of 3 so we really don't need all that much. I re-wash the silverware so we really just need plates and sometimes bowls depending on what we're eating that morning.

I do always bring some Gladwear plastic bowls because I find that the little plastic bowls are too small for a serving of cereal.

I wash the plastic wear and have gotten more paper wear from housekeeping as needed.

We've never only had 4 spoons/bowls etc. There's always more than that. I'm sure it could happen, but we've never had only 4.

Now, coffee on the other hand, sometimes I've had 3 or 4, sometimes only 2. :/

That's what I was going to mention. Over the years, lots of studio stays, I've gotten a wide variety of utensils/paper goods. I've gotten no paper plates(!), no plastic knives, enough bowls for an army, etc. so like Chuck said, check your supply and call housekeeping, "borrow" from the food court as need be.

We eat breakfast in the room most days so I bring a supply of disposable (but washable and reusable) plastic plates and bowls, the kind made by Solo or Dixie. I wash them after use as well as the plastic cutlery and they last all week. I toss them at the end of our stay. Actually now that we have an Owners Locker my supply is kept there so I don't have to remember to pack them. When I run low, I can just bring more from home to restock the locker.

Do you know if those are those plastic ones are microwavable?? I always put the paper plates in our OL because of possibly using them in the microwave...

I've never used them in the microwave but I imagine the bowls would deform if used for anything really hot like soup. We use the bowls for cold cereal and fresh fruit and the plates for bagels so I've never used them in the microwave.

Once we got our Owners Locker we picked up some small Pyrex glass bowls and one good sized cereal/soup bowl that we can use in the microwave.

We have always had a decent supply of paper goods. We did run a bit low this past trip and mouse keeping was in the hall and got us more bowls. There is always an ample supply of everything at the food courts if you really need it.

There are a fistful of plastic utensils. Oddly, I rarely ever get knives!

i know where your knives went!
we almost always get over 20 knives, and maybe 2 forks & 2 spoons (we have real utensils in our OL, so no biggie).

hmmmm....maybe DVC could incorporate a plastic utensil trade at welcome home wednesdays ;)

bumping this up again, as I can't find similar threads. Is there a list of the amenities for studios anywhere (specifically Bay Lake)
Trying to decide whether we need a corkscrew, or an actual microwaveable mug...etc..

You can rinse and resuse the paper bowls, plates and plasticware ... just sayin'

Yes, there should be a corkscrew. If not call housekeeping and they will bring you one. Housekeeping will also bring glass wine glasses to a studio if you call.

There should be 4 glass drinking glasses and 4 ceramic mugs. Again, if not call housekeeping.

I am in a BLT studio tonight.

In the kitchen:

9 paper bowls
11 paper plates
5 plastic knives, 4 plastic forks, 6 plastic spoons

1 can opener - the kind you squeeze the handles together
1 lever type can/bottle opener

1 corkscrew

4 mugs that appear microwavable
4 glass glasses

2 packs of regular coffee and 6 sugar packages with regular, equal, creamer, etc

1 sponge, 1 teeny bottle of dish detergent and a dish towel

Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a toaster.....and ....the hairdryer! (why the hairdryer is stored in the kitchen, I have no idea......)

Thanks!
Haven't done the studio and I knew they didn't have as much stuff, but as long as we can open a bottle of wine and microwave hot chocolate in coffee (for homemade mocha in the morning!) that takes care of my luxury needs. lol. I'm tempted to buy my own fancy schmancy haunted mansion wine glass (hope they're still in stock)

We're bringing our own dish soap since I've got a toddler and plenty of baby bottles to wash (and baking soda trash bags, because well....smelly baby things!)

We rinse and reuse our plasticware. If we need more, then we get additional utensils from the quick service dining location.
