DVC stay via RCI - confirmation number?

I made reservations this morning for June at SSR using RCI points. I got an RCI reservation number, but MDE didn't accept it. I called and spoke with a DVC rep to see if they could pull up the reservation and give me the number. However, they said I it would take a week to show up in their system. Is that normal? Just a little concerned since this is my first time using RCI, as well as first stay at a DVC property.

Yes, I waited about 2 weeks and called and got my number. It was easy peasy from there. Enjoyed our stay at SSR.

Yes, that is normal. I think RCI sends paper documents to DVC so it takes time.

Thanks for the responses. I guess it goes to show that some companies haven't joined the 21st century yet. LOL
