We're planning a two week trip to WDW for Thanksgiving with a four night cruise in the middle. I would love to hear anyone else's experiences with a split DVC/Cruise stay - it's something new to us and I'm excited to learn as much as I can.

Thanks!

We did 2 DVC resorts and a cruise in 2005.

4 nights in a studio at BCV followed by
4 nights in a 1 BR at VWL followed by
4 night cruise on the Wonder.

How fun is that??

We loved it. We were on the ship for Christmas day (Dec 22 thru 26) and had a wonderful time. Seems like a cruise and DVC go together very nicely.

Last year we did 1 BR at VWL for 5 nights and then a 5 night cruise out of Miami and this year we are doing a 7 night cruise out of FLL followed by DVC for 4 nights and this will be during Christmas.

Are you cruising on DCL? You should have a wonderful time if you are going for 2 weeks! Enjoy :cool1:

We did that in may 2005. We went on the 4 night disney cruse (on cash, NOT points), than when we disembarked the ship, got in our rental car and headed to Disney World and the WLV for another 4 great days!!!

Last year we did a 1 night stay at OKW prior to a 4 night cruise on the Wonder (on points) and then came back and had 3 nights in a 1 bedroom at OKW.

Loved it... Cruise is wonderful and the book-ends are too...

Planing on something similar for this coming year (except using a 7 day sruise).

We've done it. I rent from Avis with pickup at MCO and dropoff at P3F which is the Cape Canaveral Avis office. They have a shuttle that runs to and from the Port. Then when the cruise returns I have a car rented at P3F with dropoff at MCO. It works out really well.

There are other car rental agencies near the Port, so I'm sure you can do something similar with one of them.

So what do you do with all your other stuff while you are cruising if you don't have a car to put it in at the port?

Thanks all!

Our plan is to be at WDW (SSR at present - we'll see at the 7 month window) on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving until Sunday. Then the 4 night Wonder (woo hoo!) followed by a six night DVC stay (again, booked at SSR) and home on the 5th of December. It began idly when I was looking at how much a 3 night cruise would be for something "different" and then escalated into the 4 night.

I'm excited for lots of reasons, but this trip will definitely help the post WDW withdrawal from our trip this May, since a few weeks after I get back I can start booking ADR's and planning for November...!

We're thinking about surprising DS with the cruise - telling him we're going to spend the day at the ocean and then pulling up to the terminal...:goodvibes

So what do you do with all your other stuff while you are cruising if you don't have a car to put it in at the port?

It's my understanding that, if you are returning to WDW, they will store your luggage for you.

my dd and i just did ssr 2/16-2/18 then 2/18-2/22 wonder than back again at ssr from 2/22-2/25, super vacation. we loved it. first couple of days were chilly but warmed right up on the cruise and back to orlando high 70's low 80's, perfect.

We are planning a similar trip for this May 27 - June 9. 4 nights at SSR, then 3 night cruise, and then 6 nights at SSR. Waitlisted for BCV and WLV.
This will be our first Disney cruise and we are relly excited about it.

Jim.
