DVC "Seasons"

There is always a lot of talk about buying where you want to stay, and I get that. But I can say for myself, there is not one Disney resort/DVC that I would want to stay at every single time. By looking at my signature, the only one we have stayed twice at so far is Hilton Head. If I were not able to use my points at different places other than my DVC home, I wouldn't have even bought my "get your feet wet" contract.
We are in a similar boat. We have Copper Creek and I won't mind staying there if that's where I can get, but we definitely plan on trying to get different resorts so we can try them out. For our October trip it was less than 7 months out and the only thing we could get was Saratoga Springs. Not my first choice (close to my last), but better than nothing!

For our spring break trip (March 2019), I have a Copper Creek "placeholder" but definitely plan on looking for something different at the 7 month mark.

Funny, for our March spring break trip we have our placeholder at BWV booked but was planning on trying to switch to CCV or BLT.

I agree with those who earlier said the room size and occupancy numbers are really out of wack.

Studios should not be able to sleep more than a 1BR. The main reason why we bought AKV and also stay at OKW is b/c those resorts "officially" sleep 5 in a 1 BR.
We're going to try to stay a BCV next year (probable August trip, although I'm not really holding out any hope we'll be able to get something at 7 months). In any case, if we do we'll have to get a 2BR to sleep 5 which is a lot more points than if we could book a 1 BR that sleeps 5. There's really no way I want to put 5 people into a studio for a week.

At BWV they will let you put 5 in a 1br but you need to bring your bedding. Not sure if BCV allows that of if it makes sense for you. For us it works better than a studio.

All resorts allow 5 in a 1BR except AKV Jambo value 1BR and CCV 1BR. The resorts that only have a sleeper sofa, you need to bring airbed or sleeping bag for the 5th person and blanket/sheets/towel.

Yes I know they "allow" five people from an occupancy perspective, but I'm not going on vacation and bringing my own bed and bedding along to be able to sleep a fifth in one of those rooms.

That's not providing accommodations for five people, it is providing accommodations for four people and allowing occupancy of five. There is a big difference to me.
