Check your emails, I just got this.

Eligibile Disney Vacation Club Members are invited to a complimentary preview screening of the upcoming movie, Disney’s “Strange World” on November 19, 2022 at the Walt Disney World® Resort, days before the film hits theaters this Thanksgiving. Meet a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land. Pre-registration is required and seats will fill up quickly.

Registration opens November 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM Eastern.

"Disney Vacation Club Advanced Screening Strange World

Saturday, November 19, 2022
1:00pm
AMC Disney Springs
We’re excited to share an advance screening of Strange World with you at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida before it releases in theaters nationwide."

To bad we land on the airplane at 1pm so will not be able to do it.

I was surprised that there were 177 people ahead of me as soon as the page refreshed itself at 11am. It’ll be a nice midday break for our kids (9 and 7). Since we aren’t renewing our APs, we’ve been wanting to try other things besides the parks with them so this is a good option to try with them.

Any idea what time to start lining up to be sure you get a seat?
It said doors open at 12:30 and to arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to showtime. I’m sure they only register as many people as they had seats. I plan on arriving around 12:30-12:40.

Sadly the registration states..."Please arrive early. No one will be admitted late. The screening may be overbooked and seating is not guaranteed. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (WDSMP), theatre and promoter are not responsible for overbooking. We may refuse, revoke or limit admission in our sole discretion at any time." That's why I'm curious how early one should jump in line.

I completely understand the reason for the question and respect it. My email also says that and this: Members may begin checking in at 12:30 P.M.

But my screenshot from when I received the confirmation on my device says to arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to showtime.

If you’re in line in time but the line is moving too slowly, I cannot see them turning you away. If you’re worried, maybe plan to arrive around 11:30? Is that too late? I don’t know.

Maybe they will turn me away but I plan to arrive around 12:30ish, because that’s when doors open and we can begin checking in. If they don’t let me in because the line to check in isn’t moving quickly enough, oh well.

ETA: I don’t mean to sound flippant. I really don’t think they’re going to turn you away if the line isn’t moving as fast as they want. I also think that, if they had concerns about very long lines and people being turned away, they would have chosen a check in time earlier than 30 minutes prior to showtime. I think the movie is a nice perk and I appreciate it. I may be naive but I trust that they know what they’re doing with timing, staffing, and crowds for something like this. In the long run, it’s a really nice thing to offer and I’m glad to have the opportunity to attend. But I’m not going to arrive extra early when check in isn’t open until 12:30.

We went to AMC at 12:45, checked in with no wait, got popcorn and drinks, and were seated before 1 pm. It was a super cute movie! @jeepnjudy hope you liked it!
