Does DVC offer these to prospective buyers?

You know, like regular time share places that do a lecture and presentation at the villa resorts, put you up for the night, etc...?

We would like to stay at a villa for our next vacation to try it out.

I have never seen such an offer - at least not for the past few years when we were still looking into it.

My personal take is that if you would like to try a villa out - rent points from a member. It is what pretty much sold us.

The sales center located at Saratoga Springs Resort will present the details around the DVC Program and provide a tour of a SSR Villa. They don't provide free lodging but I have heard they do give out fast passes to use at a park as well as ice cream for the kids.

One big difference with Disney.....it is very LOW KEY. It is not a pressure presentation like at some other timeshares. The only pressure is at the end, if you do not buy at that point, they usually give you a stated number of days to make up your mind. In most cases I have heard, so long as you let them know you are still thinking of DVC, they do not hold you strictly to that deadline. I would suggest researching as much about DVC as possible before your visit. They will take you on a tour of SSR, show you a villa and show you the models of the AKV villas. As far as free goodies, that varies quite often. Some say they receive one thing, others didn't. I wouldn't count on getting anything and then you will be happy with what you do get.

We toured Saratoga Springs in August. They gave a a special card that entitled each member with us to three fast passes. These fast passes could be used anywhere. They will pick you up from anywhere on Disney property and drop you off when you are finished. They do have a small ice cream parlor where you wait for the car to take you back. You can get free ice cream while you wait. That is about it.

We took the tour with our best friends in April, they had heard so much from us they wanted to check it out. We received $50 gift certificates to be used anywhere in WDW.

Way back in 1995, our guide got us a discounted rate to stay at OKW. It made us KNOW we had to buy, but we still waited two more years!

We toured almost a year ago (week before Christmas). They were running the friends and family special and were feeling quite generous. We were staying at OKW (which we paid for). They picked us up, took us to SSR and watched the kids while we toured. Afterwards, the guide gave us 2 $50 certs (one for us, one for the member who referred us), took us for ice cream and offered us fast passes (we had to pass up as we were leaving the next day). As for the rooms, I've never heard of Dis picking up the tab.
