DVC rooms without balcony? Why?

Our first DVC stay was in 2006 at VWL, we had a studio room, higher floor - don't remember what the room number was.

We didn't have a balcony just a glass picture window. We were disappointed as it was our first VWL stay AND our first time at a deluxe resort or DVC. We always stayed in Value's or Moderate's before.

Do any other {WDW} DVC's have rooms without balconies {or patio's for first floor}?

And does anyone know the reason's why some have them and some may not?

I had a 1 bedroom at BWV that didn't have a balcony off the bedroom, just a small one off the living room, room 5051. It was also a boardwalk view room but actually faced the corner of the Village Green.

Why? Probably to cut corners when they designed the building. One big mistake I think they made at BWV was only 1 set of elevators for such a large building. There should have been another set down by Jellyrolls and another set by the pond.

Was the VWL studio 4533? From what I have heard it is the ONLY studio at VWL that does not have a balcony. I'd be very bummed about it for a stay too. It had something to do with the design of the building but I don't know specifically what that was.

When we stayed at VWL, we really didn't spend much time if any on the balcony. Our room faced another building and it really wasn't that nice of a view. When I am in the pool at VB, I wonder if those rooms facing the pool have balconies. It sure doesn't look like it.

You probably got good old studio 4533, I bet. ;) We got it on our first ever stay at DVC in 2002. We had just bought in at VWL and I was disappointed in that studio. Not a good first trip.

I heard that's the only one like that - something about a construction mistake.

It may have been 4533, I know it was on the fourth floor.

So what you are telling me is that there is only one studio without a balcony at VWL? Another reply said they had no balcony at BWV.

I guess I just got lucky and got that room! It was disappointing considering it was our first DVC stay. When I book again at VWL, AND I WILL, it is beautiful there, I will try my best to stay away from that room. Our home is BWV and we have always had a balcony.

We eventually would like to add on at VWL.

Thank you all for the info!
