DVC resorts with pets allowed?

I'm almost sure I know the answer to this question but figured I asked. Are there any DVC resorts that allow pets? We'll be down for a while and bringing our fur babe along as it is a long trip for us.

We rather stay on property as we are DVC but are starting to look off as we don't have many options, it seems like.

This is incorrect. There are no pets allowed at any DVC resorts but Yacht, AoA, POR, and the Cabins allow dogs for a nightly fee. I can tell you if you get stuck in a dog wing at one of those resorts it is not fun when they bark all day and night. We got stuck above one at YC in December.

Thank you. This is also the info I read. Was just wondering if I mayhave missed anything about DVCs allowing pets. We want our “home away from home” feel.
Seems odd that’s what DVC was in part made for but doesn’t allow dogs.

FWIW, I think there are probably a whole lot more members who DON'T want pets in the resorts than there are that do. IMO, there are just too many irresponsible pet owners and DVC probably has its share.

I enjoy being around most pets, but absolutely do not want to deal with other people's pets while I am on vacation. (I am talking about pets, not legitimate service animals as defined by the ADA).

If DVC ever allows pets, I sure hope it's in a brand new DVC resort and pets are expressly allowed from the beginning. IMO, it's wrong to allow them in the existing resorts.

There was a dog at AKL-Jambo house last week. I also thought no dogs but there she was - a beautiful golden retriever with her owner of course.

Think about the cleaning bills for messes and making sure that the dander has been removed from the room just in case the next guest in allergic. And the dog that chews up furniture when anxious, which some will be when unattended during the day.

I love my pets, but I have no desire to see the increase in dues from allowing pets.

And that is ignoring the barking that happens every night when 99 dalmatian puppies go missing.

The condo association contracts specifically prohibit pets.

Even in a DVC, authorized service animals are permitted, however. They are not pets.

Why should we cover that damage, the member that caused it should pay for it.

That being said, perhaps a resort that allows dogs from the beginning, so it is in the terms when you buy into the resort. Of course, Disney would probably then go on to say that being able to bring your dog is a perk only for direct sales, those that buy resale can't....lol

Just book your dog a stay at Best Friends. They are very nice, the pet lodging is very nice and you can get all sorts of special goodies for your pet. Our dog usually gets the ice cream at least twice during her stay.

There are three questions they are legally allowed to ask and it is fairly easy to figure out who is faking it based on how they answer the questions. Also, even if the dog is a service animal, if it is misbehaving they have the right to ask the owner to remove it from the property.
