What do the DVC resorts do for Xmas? Anything special for the kiddies?

I was at the VWL last Christmas and I can tell you with much certainty that I don't know. I was thinking the same as you before Christmas but by the time Christmas arrived, we were so busy and having such a great time that I didn't pay a lot of attention to what was going on.

One thing they did have there were sleigh rides from the front of the lodge around the trails. It looked like fun but the sleigh wasn't big enough to accomodate our family so we never looked into it.

The decorations at the VWL were amazing!

HBC

They usually have Santa and/or Disney characters stop by on the evening of 12/24. On 12/25, a surprise (usually a stocking with candy) should be hanging on your door. Christmas Eve they sometimes have some other entertainment which usually include cookies. But, as HBC says, most guests are not hanging around the resort long enough to take advantage of these events.

While we were at BCV last December, there were signs up at the entrance into the Villas inviting the kids to come to help make different types of Christmas cookies.

At OKW Santa visit 12/24 and you recieve a stocking filled with mickey candy on xmas day. Holiday music is everywhere around the pool and main area. Many folks(including us) brought lights for our porches/windows and christmas trees are also evident. All WDW resorts have great decorations!
Connears

BWV has the tree lighting, Christmas carolers, and bell ringers performing Christmas carols (very good), these all take place on the Village Green at various times during the evening for several weeks around the Christmas and New Years holidays.
The Community Hall also has several children's holiday themed arts and crafts and activities planned for this time.
Santa comes to visit in the lobby for Christmas Eve and I believe a few nights preceding Christmas Eve, and then Christmas morining all WDW resorts receive a stocking on their door filled with candy!
Needless to say, all the parks and resorts are decorated very nicely for the holidays and Christmas music is piped from everywhere!!! This is a very magical time to visit WDW. ::yes::
