DVC Resorts and Epcot question......

Which DVC resorts are the closest to Epcot and within walking distance? And is one better than the other?

That would be the BWC and the BCV. Both are within walking distance. As to which is better, that has been debated at length on these boards. We actually own at both but prefer the BWV. Both are beautiful properties and each has it's own perks.

They are Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas. I believe technically, BCV is a little closer to the World Showcase entrance. Both are absolutely beautiful and wonderful in their own ways. I've stayed at both and truly enjoyed each. The reason we love BWV is for the Boardwalk atmosphere. The reason we love BCV is for the awesome pool - Stormalong Bay.

With each of these resorts you are also within walking distance to Disney MGM Studios. You may want to read up on each's accomodations and view photos of each resort as well to see which of the two best suits your needs and style.

Beach Club Villas and Boardwalk Villas are both within walking distance of Epcot. Which one is better is a matter for debate. Boardwalk is much larger and has some lake views. Beach Club Villas is behind the Beach Club Resort, so no lake views but they have some views looking right into Epcot.

As everyone has said, BCV and BWV are both close to Epcot. We originally bought BWV and did an add-on at BCV so the GK could have SAB.

If it weren't for SAB, I would probably prefer BWV. I love the activities on the Boardwalk, bigger choice of restaurants and easier to get coffee in the morning.

Although I bought BCV for GK, I think they really prefer BWV.

I have to agree with JBTHI, if it wern't for Stormalong Bay pool, I would prefer the BW hands down. It is the best pool on property.

Here are my thoughts...

- BCV has a shorter walk to Epcot than BWV, by minute or two.
- BCV has a shorter boat ride to MGM, unless BWV guests cheat and walk over to the swan/dolphin. We do this all the time.
- BCV has a better pool: SAB.
- BCV has a beach... is that why they call is "beach club"?
- BCV is near the marina if you're interested in renting a boat.
- BCV has alligators... this according to Niagara2

- BWV has the best access to the Boardwalk fun, food, and charm.
- BWV has a shorter walk to MGM, but we like to save strength for the park by taking the boat...which is longer...unless you cheat.
- BWV has a shorter walk to Fantasia gardens.
- BWV is the Epcot boat's first stop, there and back.
- BWV has a cool pool too... just not a cool as SAB.


We're BWV people... so that would be our pick. However, our next ressie will be at BCV... to go gator hunt'n!

BWVs have larger closets.

BCVs have the "bench table" that most people prefer over the BWV table.

BWV has Grand Villas - but they are pretty expensive GVs. BCV doesn't

BWV has standard view rooms - fewer points. BCV has some dedicated two bedrooms with two "real" beds in the second bedroom.

(My opinion only - tastes differ - BCV has a really ugly couch, but BWV wins hands down for the ugliest peice of decorating - that shower curtain!)

One thing I don't think was mentioned - BWV has boardwalk view rooms available while BCV does not.
