DVC Resort room requests

We are getting ready for a week stay at OKW (on a cash reservation). This is our first time at a DVC resort. In past trips (to non-DVC resorts) I've always put in a fax for our room request and had excellent luck doing so, as we typically got what we considered our "perfect" room. I I just recently read a thread informing me that DVC resorts do not accept fax requests, so I had a few quick questions.

First, is this correct, no faxed requests to DVC resorts?
2. I assume calling then is the next best option (as online check-in requests are general in nature) - how far in advance should I place this call?
C. How successful have those of you who put in a request at a DVC resort (specifically on a cash reservation) been in getting what you wanted?

I responded to your other threads. Correct, no faxes to DVC resorts.

You may be staying at a DVC resort but the resort is run and room requests filled by Disney Resorts, not the DVC. My understanding is that all Disney resorts stopped using faxes for room requests and phone calls are answered by off-site call centers. A couple of years ago I was told by a Disney room assigner that faxed room requests were tossed in the trash and not considered.

Are we supposed to email room requests? I normally don't request a special, Burt would like a refurb' room for a standard view 2 bedroom coming up in June, thx

who do you make the reservation with - call them back and give them your request.

know alot of members thinking being close to HH is the way to go - I don't - OKW is a very peacefully place - except near the HH.

I email member services all the time with requests or information about our reservation. For example, when we had our GV, I emailed the names and ages of our eight guests. That was easier than doing it over the phone.
