DVC Resort Availability for October

Hi -

We are DVC members and are planning to go to Disney World on October 20-25, 2021. I've been trying to get a room for months, but haven't had any luck. In the past (pre-Covid), Saratoga Springs and Old Key West have usually had availability when other resorts didn't. Does anybody know if it's due to capacity limits or if everything is completely booked? Any strategies other than stalking the site every day?

The DVC resorts are open at full capacity.

Everything is completely booked. I was watching it at 7 months and it still would have been possible to book a few rooms then but they disappeared quickly.

50th Anniversary will have started and everyone is heading back to WDW. You'll just have to rely on the waitlist to get a cancellation or stalking to pick up cancellations you haven't waitlisted.

Given the points glut from all the cancelled COVID trips and the 50th Anniversary, I seriously doubt anything will suddenly turn up for your dates. It is going to difficult to get what you want for the next year or so, unless you book early, early. For the first time ever, I walked reservations at the 11 month window for OKW.

Just wanted to say about three weeks ago we decided to go in October or November, any week, studio-2 bedroom.

I stalked and stalked. First I had a studio for four nights at SSR some time in October. Then, one morning a one bedroom at AKL Kidani Savannah opened for four nights and I stalked last week and pieced together a week-long stay for November. Then, end of last week, BWVs opened up for three nights in a row and then a day at the end. I took that instead. I pieced together in five reservations an 8 night stay for the following week in a one bedroom Pool/Garden view.

Today I saw four nights at RIV in a one bedroom and almost took it but told myself Im not moving again unless it is five nights or longer. Im still waiting for November 11-12 to make it a 9 night stay but I havent seen that date open since my initial staking started.

If you see a few days start piecing together and put WL in for single days. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the replies. We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed that we luck up and get something via the waitlist or by checking the site multiple times daily. I guess if all else fails, we can try to get a reservation at one of the value or moderate resorts.
