DVC resales; why are there so many?

Because geeky college kids go to places like Disney, where it isn't one huge pick up scene and if they do meet someone, its likely to be someone more interested in discussing Pixar animation than drinking a 24 pack by themselves.

However, sometimes you don't get a choice in what young adults want to do. My son - he's going to a beach where he will see if he can drink a 24 pack by himself. And as long as none of his young adult stupidity leads to life altering circumstances - its young adult stupidity. I can think back to my own young adulthood and say "I hope my own kids have the sense never do THAT!"
Crisi, You just explained my daughter to a "T"... Animation is her thing. Lol.

We live at the beach in FL. What strikes me most about spring breakers isn't what they're doing (people were doing that when we were in college too)...it's the fact that they are TAKING PICTURES of what they're doing and putting them up online. They have no sense of the fact that those will be out there forever for future employers to see! It's crazy and I see it all.the.time here. Not saying that stuff can't happen at Disney, but I too would prefer to have my kids go there for spring break over going to Cancun!

To answer the question a few posts up, my dad owns at OKW but was trying to book elsewhere right at the 7 month mark and wasn't getting what he wanted. I'm pretty sure he could have gotten OKW at 11 months, but that wasn't what he was hoping for.

If you are an empty nester, the lower priced DVC resale resorts (like Hilton Head & Vero Beach) are great for off season bookings at WDW (but Wine and food is so popular you need to book a favored resort at the 11 month window). Flower and Garden can be more flexible (except spring break times).

Why does the idea of my daughter going to Disney for spring break make me feel a whole lot better than the vision of her going to somewhere like Cancun?

:teeth: We were concerned with that. When our Daughter graduated high school, the kids all head to Myrtle Beach for a week. Fortunately she liked our suggestion of Disney (with us) and her boyfriend.
