We're ready to buy! We need help now choosing who to go through. We're set on a resale but haven't made up our minds where "home" will be. If anyone has any good/bad experiences with resellers, please post. Any/all posts are greatly appreciated!

Looking for a reseller with a great track record & smooth transactions.

I can highly recommend Jaki Apetz or her son **** ***** at Resales DVC

Here is their website where you can get their contact information.

www.**********.com

They are a very profressional organization and have been selling DVC for 15 years. I bought through them in 1994 and had a great experience. I am certain that you will get others to respond with positive feed back as well.

Get on their list because many of the good listings never hit their website.

Good luck

Ed

We bought our resale through The Timeshare Store and had a very quick and helpful purchase. They're the sponsors of the DVC boards, and you can get more information at the top.

I am currently in the process of buying through jaki and **** but I also spoke with the timeshare store. TSS was helpful but it happened that **** got a listing I wanted first. I would have felt comfortable using either.

Since Oct. 2008 I have bought two contacts (total 410 pts.) from Rachel at GMAC International. She can be reached at (800) 464-4201 ext. 7713. Both contract took about 30 days total from making the offer to closing. I would use her again and her follow up is great.

>>>>>PLEASE USE THE TIMESHARE STORE>>>>>

They are the sponsors of theses DVC boards. It only fitting to patronize them. They have been with the Pete & wdwinfo.com since it's inception.

I used them last spring for my first DVC purchase and found the entire staff to be helpful and above board. I don't think you can do better than them.

You can just click on the link at the top of this page to be taken to their site. There you will find all the resale listings as well as a FAQ section second to none. They also have all the points charts on the site as well.

I dealt primarily with Jason, but all the associates are good.

Have not dealt with The Timeshare store so I can't comment. Would love to patronize them. However, Jaki and **** are very helpful and informative. I say go with whomever you find the contract you want with. I have noticed that some other resalers tend to have higher prices. I know the prices come from the Seller, but I do believe that TTS and Jaki have good advice for both the buyer and the seller. We haven't bought yet, but I feel very confident just talking to both Jaki and ****. Good luck! We are still trying to decide between Resale and BLT!! (yes, I have a referral :thumbsup2 )

We used Jaki and **** because they had a contract we were interested in. They were great. We also contacted TSS to inquire what was available through them. They were very helpful and I would have been very comfortable buying through them if they would have had what we were looking for at that time.

The TimeShare Store. My sister used them as well and we both had great experiences.

I also used GMAC and all went very smoothly. I know some have had issues with them, but that wasn't the case with me.

Same here. Worked through Jason and everything was very smooth and efficient... wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use them again. :thumbsup2

We have used TTS, Rachel at GMAC and DVCbyResale.com. All were excellent. Each time we added-on we researched who had the contract that best fit our needs.

Thanks for the many responses. It eases our minds quite alot to hear about some real experiences, all which seem to be good.

I've been in contact with Jaimie at TSS more than once & I've just been emailed a bunch of listings through ****.

So now it's just a matter of where the best "deal" is to be made. We ready to make an offer.

If anyone has any other words of advice, please post!

Thanks :thumbsup2

Out of curiosity - did you get emailed listings that aren't listed online ? I'm potentially looking at buying a resale in the next few months and was wondering if there's a lot more out there that I'm not seeing on the various resaler's sites.

TIA,
Chris

Jason from the TSS has a "new listings" email he sends out most days. The advantage is that you see them before they hit the regular site which is helpful if you are looking for something that is likely to be snapped up quickly. You can also ask your agent to keep an eye out for anything specific so they can give you a call as soon as something comes in that matches your criteria... it's these contracts that I don't think ever show up on the listings.

Good luck!

Thanks - when I finally make the decision to take the plunge I'll contact an agent, but don't feel that it's right to have them doing any work for me before I make that decision.

But good to know that there's more out there than what is found online.

We are in the process of closing on our first contract right now. We went through The Timeshare Store and have been very happy so far. I agree with others, find a contract that you are interested in.

I definitely recommend contacting TSS and getting on their email list for all the new listings. While I was in the process of looking, I would receive TSS email of new listings. If there was a listing that looked really good, many times it was sale pending the same day (sometimes within hours). Be patient and you will find what you're looking for.

I've bought 3 time and sold twice all with Jason at TSS. Great experience every time. Great guy and a great Disboards sponsor. I would use the cheerleader smiley to express my feelings but I am anti-emoticon, sorry.

I requested the entire list and was given about 15 pages of resales via email through **********.com

Just a quick note: there were 3 full pages of Old Key West Resales & 8 full pages of Saratoga Springs Resales.

All the others had maybe a 1/2 of a page full.

After much looking we did make an offer & it was through The Timeshare Store.

Now were waiting to see if the offer is accepted. :scared: If not, we'll find another one to offer on.

Hope this answered your question.
