DVC/Resale

OK I'm back. I've inquired here so many times and my DH is now ready to purchase 100 points for us to get us started. We will keep our current gig off-site and use the 100 points with it to extend our trips. Should we buy from DVC or a resale company? What's the difference? For both, how long is the process from start to finish?

If the 100 points is your first purchase, you have to purchase a resale. The least you can begin with buying from Disney is 150.

Buying from Disney is very fast, and you can make a ressie practically immediately. If you went with resale, 6 weeks would be about average for being able to make a ressie with the points, at least that's how long it took my 2 resales to get in the system.

We bought from Disney, but that was because there wasn't much for sale at the BWV..we were going to buy 150. but later decided to buy 250..and its a good thing we did...I helped out friends find and purchase from the Timeshare Store (Pat) a 300pt contract and later a 100pt. contract both at the BCV..dont wait till something is on the web-site...Call and get on their list TSS and be ready to move, i mean purchase when they call ...in both cases the closing went well and was finished before the date they gave them...Our friends couldnt be more thrilled...
