Interested in finding out if dvc resale members can purchase gold annual passes? I know there’s so many restrictions without having an actual member card so I wasn’t sure if they would allow this.

I do not think so. I know that before I made my direct purchase I could not even see the gold option when logged into the annual pass site.

You can purchase them all day long. Activating them is the issue ;)

Im a VERY recent DVC resale owner. And I DO see the gold option. But they'll ask for your blue card when you go to activate so its moot.

Yea, I didn't think about the dates and implementation of the restrictions. I purchased resale in October 2017 and until my direct purchase last year did not qualify for a gold pass.

Resale purchasers who first purchased on or after April 4, 2016 cannot use incidental benefits including lower priced or Gold APs unless you have since purchased needed points directly from DVD.

The gold AP cost is really the big reason that some people choose to buy direct points to be blue card members. It is the discount that can offset the extra expense of direct.

To be eligible, you’d need to add on 100 points direct from Disney, When it first went into effect, one only needed 25, but since 2016 it’s been raised to 100.

When you activate a DVC AP, they swipe your member card or key in the numbers. So it checks for eligibility.
