Dvc rental store

After you log in on the company's website, you should be able to click on Claim Open Listings (even though you would be a "Guest" and are not a DVC member). There is a "price paid per point" column which shows a DVC member how much they will be paid if they choose to book that reservation. Right at the moment, a member would be paid $12 per point for the November reservations which are showing on the website. Some members might think that is too low. This company has recently decided to lower what it pays out to members. A member might choose to use this company's competitor, which pays the member more per point. A member might choose to rent the points out themselves here on the Dis or on Facebook to get more per point.

There have been threads on here about rental pricing from the members' point of view.
Here is one of them:

Hi I am currently trying to rent dvc points at the dvc rental store for an upcoming November trip. I know a lot of different factors go into play but just out of curiosity how long have you disers waited until they found a match for you?
I rented through the other big rental site and was matched basically immediately. Given that you’re looking for a date 7 months out, and in the fall, your bigger challenge will be room availability, not point availability. It’s very hard to rent rooms in the fall without planning at least 10-11 months ahead.

Good luck.

I recently rented points through the DVC rental store for the first time. My first choice date and room type became unavailable before they could find a match, but I was past the 7 month mark so I knew that might happen.

For my second choice, they were able to find a match within a day. Looking at the timestamps on our emails it was actually like eight hours. HOWEVER, I was pretty confident there was still plenty of availability for those dates using the (removed due to no link) so I was a little less worried about it getting booked up. As @Epcot Forever Forever said, room availability can be a big factor.

We did a two bedroom BLT theme park view in 8 months out. Lots of points (444) took about 3 days to get filled

We've had trouble with large point requests and even a big confirmed reservation that actually wasn't valid. I'm not a patient person so I pulled my request for a sure thing elsewhere after a week or two.

Many people wait weeks. I'd have a plan B ready.

My last 2 requests were accepted in a day, but were smaller point requests.

Going forward, I'm only renting from members on here who have been on the boards a lengthy time, have a lot of points, use contracts, etc. Instead of an agency.I've had great luck so far and met some really nice members.

I have used another company in the past, but just opted to try DVCRS for a pre-cruise trip we're taking in February '24. So many factors go into how long one could wait (time until trip, resort, time of year, etc.) but we just got confirmed today for a Resort Studio at GF and only waited 8 days. I think one of the bigger factors for us in getting it quickly was the low trip length (3 nights at 50 points). Their process of just throwing your request out there into the ether and seeing who takes a bite can be a little off putting, at least it was for me, but ended up working out.
