DVC Rental points - availability updates?

Comedic that everyone on here thinks everyone wants BC lol. I very rarely check availability for any DVC rentals since the dates never line up, that's always my issue. Maybe when kids and works aren't dictating the calendar it might work out.
There is a popular rental board out there. Many, many of the requests are for BCV.

We almost always stay in a 1BR villa (BRV or CC) but book directly through Disney because we stay anywhere from 12-14 nights and it is nearly impossible to find an owner with that many points to rent, and who can actually put together a reservation for that long or who even wants to attempt the effort (no split stays). We have been lucky and have been able to get a discount on the villa through Disney. It's definitely more than renting points, but we get what we want when we want it and can cancel if needed. And we don't like the BC! I think it's my least favorite resort I've stayed in so far.
Studios typically save the most w/ renting from a DVC owner. The 1 br.s take a lot of points & if Disney is heavily discounting their cash rooms a DVC rental for a 1 br. may cost about the same as a cash rental through Disney. But Disney usually only releases discounts a few months ahead of when they’ll apply & by that time popular DVC villas are already booked.
OP, owners can book their home resort (where their points are) from 11-7 months. Those who own at more popular resorts tend to book them during this home resort priority booking. At 7 months owners can book anywhere (except Riviera for some resale owners) & many owners switch from the larger/less in demand resort they own at 7 months to book a smaller/more popular resort further reducing available villas at popular/smaller resorts.
Another factor is view categories, typically views that require more points such as BWV preferred view, AKV Kidani savanna view, Poly water view, (& I assume VGF resort studio water view,) etc., will be available longer than views that take fewer points. There’s also seasonality to demand, some times of year are especially tough & some times of year & holidays cost more points than others.

Understood, good info and yes on the 1BR and discounts. I have thoroughly researched DVC and thought about buying, but I don't think it's for me. I understand all the booking times and "rules". We stay for longer periods of time and I don't want to have to deal with waitlists and adding days or modifying. I'd rather just pay for the villas, we have been lucky over the years to get 1BR's and studios when needed for 2 week at a time. It's only 2 of us going this September and we have a CC studio (booked cash with the dining card promo) and we were able to get 2 weeks when we wanted to go. Renting points doesn't work either because of how long I like to stay, most owners don't have the needed points and it would be a chore for them to try and book all the nights I want (split stay is not an option). I probably could have paid for A LOT of points by now!
