DVC Rental Links and Help

I am interested in renting some points for a room in November at a DVC resort. Is there any way to research the DVC member or is there a link to a thread of feedback for the people who have rented out their points? Also, what are the standard references you can check into to when renting from someone?

I have searched for posts on this subject but most posts arent available anymore.

The best way is to see how long they have been a member and how many posts they have. If you click on their name, you can see other posts by them as well. There is no "feedback" system for renting, other than asking for references. I have had points transferred about 4 times into my account, all without a hitch. It has involved trust, just like renting would, so you have to have a feel about the person and your communication with them.

Personally, I would not rent from someone who just signed up to list points for rent. They may be totally legitimate, but I would have more comfort from a long-standing Disboard member with plenty of posts.

I agree completely but didnt want to point it out since I only have 5 posts myself.

I guess time will work best. Ill just check everyday until someone with more posts and / or actual rental posts offers their points.

If you are hoping for Thanksgiving, you need to make your reservation very soon because DVC resorts get booked up for Thanksgiving. Some room types and views are probably already booked up.

I would email some of their renters and see how it all went. Talk to them on the phone. See how they handle your questions. Will they help you with recommendations or are they renting a room and it's over?

Actually we are looking for Sunday the 4th through Friday the 9th. I have heard about Thanksgiving at WDW and doesnt sound like a good idea for our first trip.

In that case, you still need to make that reservation soon. You will be going during the Food & Wine Fest and the DVCs are very popular, particularly the ones near Epcot. The will sell out first, followed by the others as they fill up.

We have gone often that week. You will love it!

I had no idea it was food and wine at that time of year. It seems like just yesterday I last heard about that. What a great time to go.
