Is there any kind of a DVC discount at the Magic Kingdom Barber Shop? Also, is open for haircuts every day? I want to take my one year old son there for his first haircut.

Thanks in advance. WE only have a few days left!

I don't believe there is any DVC discount, and I think they open everyday. The problem is usually you have to get there early, otherwise, there always seems to be line.

Have a great time. Are your parents coming with you on this trip too? Tell them I said hi, they are truly wonderful people (traded points with them last October)!!!:D

No DVC discount, but it is a great place for that first haircut. It opens at 9:00am and does get crowded. Go early or plan to wait- there are usually two barbers (sometimes only one).

Cost is $12 for kids (1st timers get 1st Haircut mouse ears) and $15 for adults (plus any gratuity). All of the barbers are great with the little ones.

Enjoy- and take lots of pictures! :)

Another thing I wanted to let you know, is that the barber shop DOES NOT accept room charge. They accept cash, and credit cards but no room card. Trust me, we once almost were caught in a VERY embarassing situation, but we asked before it was our turn. We don't carry much cash with us, since we charge everything to the room, so make sure you have the cash on you!!!

Hi, we get our hair cut there every time we visit. Last week it cost $15 for adults, $12 for children, and yes, it does get crowded. The best days to go are Tues or Weds, and the last person they take must have arrived by 4:30 pm (they close at 5:00 pm). They are all wonderful, and I agree, bring an extra roll of film just for the "first haircut". No, there isn't a discount for DVC. They will also put a colored gel in your hair if desired (not usually with the first haircut b/c the "ears" are on), and will put pixie dust too. Little ones also get lots of stickers too!

My DS got his first haircut at Harmony last spring. The line was always long, and we went into MK first thing every morning 3 days in a row before the line seemed manageable. So, my advice is be flexible - if the line is really long, try back at different times, maybe even different days. It's so well worth it. We took tons of pictures, so be sure you have film. The woman who cut DS's son gave him a Buzz Lightyear toy to play with and used Mickey stickers to get him to look where she needed him to look - for example, if she wanted him to look down, she put stickers on the tops of his shoes! She wrapped his locks up in tissue and put it in a little bag for me. He also got ears that say "my first haircut" on the back, as well as certificate. Have fun!

Last Wednesday when my DSs got their hair cut there was a piece of paper over the sign showing the costs of a haircut. We were charged $14 for a childs haircut and I heard them telling adults the cost was $17.

DISNEYWORLDBORN2SHOP,

Guess their prices have gone up since Sunday, May 31, 2004. We had the last three haircuts of the day, arrived at 4:20 pm to a very minimal line (3 people ahead of us, two of which were already in the chairs having their hair cut), and paid what I said ($12 for the kids and $14 for me). Not surprised that the prices went up, I always said that it was the best deal in WDW!!!
