Does DVC ever offer promotional rates/deals for doing a timeshare tour? You know, like so many timeshares offer? ie. 3nights/4 days for $199 or something similar? TIA

No.

however once they offer the moderates for $79 a night.

this only happened once and since it has not been repeated - it probably didn't work for them.

they do sometimes get you vouchers for lunch/dinner.

They used to give deals for HH, but they weren't that great and then Hilton Head sold out. Since then they must be selling well without the deals.

Thanks! Thought it was worth a shot...

Thanks. I actually researched that a little, but the savings aren't that great. I am trying to find some major budget savers and going the timeshare route saves tons. I just thought that maybe I could fanagle a timeshare promo AND stay on site. Wishful thinking!!

are you joking

here are the rates for OKW
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortRates?id=OldKeyWestResortRatesListingPage

you need to add 11.5% sales tax to those rates

so for a studio at OKW in Sept - $288.78 (after tax - before $259) with annual pass discount - $173.21 - however if you rent from a member and only stay Sun-thursday you can get this studio for $80 a night. I think this is a great saving

for Oct/Nov- WDW is regular season - so $289 before taxes - $322.22 after taxes - with the annual pass discount - $193.34 - again this studio will rent (most of the time) for $80 a night from a DVC member.

only stay Sun-thurs nights and renting points is a pretty good deal.

I see your point. And I should have been clearer with mine. I didn't mean that you don't significantly save by renting points. Or that it is not a good deal. I just meant that I want to get as much as I can for as little as I can (cheap-skate, lol). And I would save even more by doing a timeshare...6days/5nights accomodations and two 4-dayMYW w/hopper for $466 is an example.

Just hoping that maybe DVC did some kind of discount with a tour.
