hi I'm so excited as we have booked our trip 1may - 12 th may 2017

I know you are not allowed to pool hop to stormalong bay but since our last visit there are now dvc villas at the poly & GF

Are u allowed as a dvc member to pool hop to these?

Can anyone provide a list of where you can go / can't go

Many thanks

Not the poly but GF is still okay. The info is on the member site.

Here is a link and info on pool hopping

Important Information
  • Pool hopping is not available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas, the Lava Pool and leisure pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, the Silver Creek Springs Pool and Hidden Springs Pool at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • Other restricted dates than those listed above may be added based on projected pool capacity.

Glad there is no pool hopping at my home resort and most others we like to stay at. Frankly it would stink if a pool was at capacity due to those not staying at that resort. Shutting out people staying at that same resort. Surprised it is allowed at GF of all places. Thinking there will be no pool hopping at any DVC resorts in the near future. Not knocking people taking advantage of pool hopping under current rules I just don't personally believe it is a good idea.

I don't think enough people take advantage of this perk to make it an issue. Years ago my kids and I pool hopped on the monorail, which was actually pretty easy and convenient. But given all the new restrictions, I don't think we would even bother again - more trouble than it's worth, really.

I didn't realize wilderness lodge was on the list.

I wonder how many do use this perk. For us with about 15 DVC trips, we used it once. My DD, DGD and I were staying BCV. We had gone to MK. Ate at Wilderness lodge and then used the pool. That was about 8 yrs ago.

But I could see maybe hopping from BLT to GF just for the kids zone with my 4 yr old DGS.

We plan on doing this with my 3 year old in October when my 5 year old is doing the kids pirates cruise there. This is basically the only time we will ever pool hop! too much work!

It could be that Wilderness Lodge is a temporary addition to the no hopping rule since that resort only has one pool right now due to the renovations. But then DVC has removed more pools lately, so who knows.

We've only ever pool-hopped twice and both times we were staying at BCV...back in 2009 to the Poly and in 2011 we hopped, to OF ALL PLACES...CBR. Big mistake!! :crazy2: But DH wanted to go to the pool bar there.

The rest of us couldn't wait to get back to SAB.
