DVC POLY future owners thread

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not have the Poly go on sale prior to 2016- we are planned until then! DVC has made me become a planner-to-the-max!!! :scared:

I had to make a deal with the hubby that we wouldn't buy Poly if we bought GFV... And well, we just bought 150 pts at GFV, although we were smart and went 3-50 pt contracts!!!

DH has already agreed with me that if/when Poly happens I can get 110 points there to bring us to a round 400. That should get us a 1 BDR every third year. The other two years will be spent at AKV and SSR, or somewhere else if we want to do something different.

It seems like just yesterday we were speculating on a GFV. Then after it was announced our speculation and imaginations turned to what the cost would be. Today many of you already have GFV resies. Time flies. I am sure we will all be sitting around the Poly DVC pool shortly enjoying our Dole Whips.

We will do another addon for DVC POLY - this is hubby's favorite resort. Just bought VGF for our 9 year old - she loves VGF. We just keep adding on points to feed our Disney love.

With our latest add on, we are up to 700... So we decided to rent our 300 pt contract. Not a bad return so we will see how that goes. Maybe in the future we will start to use it again, but for now, the extra cash is nice.

I only added on 50pts at VGF. DH is eagerly waiting the Poly DVC. I've got to save my money because I definitely want more Poly pts. 2 or 3 nights in a studio at the VGF is plenty for me. 5 nights at the Poly is better. :)

I am so in on the Poly. Have been waiting since I stayed there in in 2009. I still love OKW, but will be great to stay at the Poly again. Tink spread some fairy dust and make it true. :tink:

Gee with VGF being touted as being so small and very much in demand, maybe I should buy those now, hold them (and use them) until the Poly is built, then sell them at a huge profit and use that to buy the Poly points! :rotfl2:

That's actually a great idea! :rotfl:

Ah, to be able to walk from "home" and get Kona coffee and sushi

Shoot, my DH would want to buy, just to be able to walk to CPT Cooks for an Aloha Pork Sandwich....not to mention 'Ohanas.

This is the greatest thread ever and I want to be a part of it.

I am also holding out hope for a Poly DVC. I will be adding lots of points when it happens!! :goodvibes

We would definitely be interested in adding on at the Poly, it's the only monorail resort that we like.

Poly Villas would be the only new resort that we would seriously consider adding on to. In the meantime, a BCV add on keeps whispering my name!! :rolleyes1

Definitely adding on at Poly when/if the the time comes. I have already started a little Poly DVC savings account so it will be relatively painless by the time points go on sale.

I'm pretty new to DISboards and have to say I love reading these threads! I love to dream about past, present, and future magic! I feel as though many people here share the same thoughts and passion... So happy to be a part of it! The monorail resort tour has always been part of each trip. We weren't ready to add on at BLT when announced... I so wanted more points and at a monorail resort! But the VGF rumor mill had just started and I knew a couple years out would be a great time for first add on. The poly timing will be a perfect time for a 2nd add on!! :)

This would likely be a more accurate account of that:

Super Wow. If this blogger is for real, that's a HUGE add on. And that new pool / lazy river . . . humongous and much needed. I was worried that the volcano pool would have to hold everyone.

I could see the bungalows going for VGF prices (or at least treehouse villa prices), but otherwise no. Anything with "Grand" in the name will be in all regards. Those looked mega expensive to build and furnish and continue to furnish. It warrants those points. The Poly is more earthy. I don't foresee TV-in-mirrors in there, nor specially made victorian jetted tubs.

I do. If TV in the mirrors is still a trendy thing out in the world it will be at the Poly. And those tubs too - they are just standard, although expensive, tubs and are consider to be much more hygenic than the old whirlpool type. AKV GV's were the first ones to show the sign of TV's in the bathroom and it continues to be a growing trend.
