DVC Points Rental and Free Dining...

can it be done? we've considered renting points so we can stay at a nicer resort for less money (and secretly so i can convince dh we should buy in!) but we're going during free dining and would hate to lose that perk... can the two be combined? if so, how?

any and all advice and information would be greatly appreciated

renting points from member - in a word, no. However, you can try calling CRO and reserve a room through them. To get the free dining, you have to pay rack rate for the room. I believe rack rate for a studio is somewhere around $300.

thanks for a speedy response... now where did i get the impression that dvc'ers are eligible for the dining plan (or are they eligible for the regular but not the free?)... hmmm... must have misunderstood some of the posts on the restaurant board...

again, thanks... guess i'll stick w/our two rooms at pop century (and plan another stay at a dvc to convince dh! LOL!)

We are eligible for it but not for free. See we don't have to buy tickets in order to get the dining plan so that makes it a nice perk.

If you still want to rent points you can be put on the dining plan, its the same price you would pay if you booked through CRO if you weren't going during the free dining.

Take the DVC tour while you are staying at Pops, you never know he may love the DVC.
