We will be doing a Disney cruise with grandparents in May 2010 will be a party of 7 so we will need 2 cabins now here come the questions

the Grandparents are DVC members and wanted to use their points to pay for their cruise is it worth it or would the points be of less value out side of DVC properties

if they do use their points and we put one of our kids in their cabin can we pay separately for that extra body in their cabin (we are a family of 5 but if we put one kid in with grandparents we would only need 2 cabins total) thanks

Hmmm, not sure if this topic should be in the DVC forum or the Disney Cruise Line Forum but I am going to move it to the DVC forum and the moderators there can move it again if they feel it necessary.

You can certainly have them book their stateroom on points, and add on your child for cash. It is a prearranged cash discounted price - not the cheapest but not the highest either. You do not mention the age, but children are a reduced price, especially as the third person in the room.

They can contact DVC MS and they will provide them with the quote for how many points and cash. The cash portion would be due at booking via credit card, along with the $95 exchange fee to book the cruise. Good luck!
