DVC points in DLP

Hello,
has anyone used DVC points to stay at DL paris?
if so, how many points per night for the diff hotels?

Has anyone found any info on the web on points per night for resorts outside of disneyworld- points charts etc.
I am interested in DVC membership but living in the UK means i would like to use points to stay at resort in europe and would like info before purchasing ( would love t go to florida/california every year but flight are soooooooo expensive!!)

We have just come back from Disneyland Paris on points. We stayed at New York Hotel for 165 for three nights over half term and thought it was well worth it as it only cost the ferry journey and the park tickets and breakfast was thrown in as well.

We bought 520 points and we too find the flight prices very expensive during school holidays and will only be going once a year until our daughter leaves school in five years time and then we can go more times during the year. We therefore have decided to go to Disneyland Paris and exchanges either in UK or Spain etc. We have an exchange booked in Devon for February half term.

We are more than happy with this but many in US would say it was a very bad use of points in that you should rent your points out and use the cash to buy a holiday. DH would probably use the cash for something else so this way I am guaranted one holiday to WDW a year plus others during the year.

Have used points for DLP twice and worked out much cheaper for us than paying cash, as tickets for parks are included. But, the amount of points needed for DLP does increase each year. There are some good and bad European swaps - most are for one week but we swapped to Vienna for 2 nights and it was a great deal. One of the best swaps i got was a week in a 3 bed villa at Four Seasons in the Algarve - v good deal - it would have cost me about £1600 if I had paid cash. Some people will tell you that swapping isn't great but you can get some excellent trades, if you are lucky.

When I have looked at the cost of staying at DLP on my points it has worked out far far more expensive to do that than it would have been to pay by cash.

Also I feel I get better "value" for my points at WDW. For example, a 3 night stay at DLP in a moderate range hotel would cost me a year's points - or I could get 12 weeknight nights at a deluxe DVC resort, for the same points.

If I had a situation where I couldn't go to Florida or couldn't afford to go I might consider using them at DLP. But I would not buy the points with the thought of using DVC points at DLP, except rarely.

The only time I used points at DLP was when I would have lost them otherwise. If you want to buy DVC to use in DLP more than USA then it is probably an expensive option. You could consider banking and borrowing points so that you went to USA once every 3 years if that is more realistic for you.

We have 245 points and go to WDW every 2-3 years for 2 weeks, often with another family so book a 2 bed villa (during the school summer holiday). We bank and borrow to do this but had enough points left over one year to do 3 nights at DLP. We stayed at New York Hotel.

I wouldn't plan to buy points to do that as it works out ex*****ve, but if you have some left over then it is a good way to use them up.

Paris is lovely but agood train ride away
