DVC also currently has a limit of 50% of the contract able to be borrowed. No end given for that right now. The problem with banking, using and borrowing every three years is that if something happens and you can't go in the middle year, you might not be able to use the points you banked and you lose them. Normally, if you borrow, you cannot unborrow. They stay in the year they were borrowed into.
This year is totally different from every other year with the impact of Covid. Normally, from mid-Sept to mid-January, it can be hard to book at seven months out, especially studios. December is always hard, especially the first two weeks and Christmas/New Year week. Some resorts may never be available at seven months out. You might be limited to OKW, SSR and AKV. If you buy resale now or in the future, you won't be able to use your resale points at RIV. If you buy RIV resale, you'll only be able to use the points at RIV and any newer resort, not the original resorts.
