dvc points for a cruise?

My understanding is yes as long as it's within 14 months away. You don't actually book on board, you simply make arrangements to do so by expressing interest. If you change your mind before you make the reservation with DVC MS, no problem.

Forget my last question... I found a abbrevation list, it just might take me awhile to figure what's what *G*

Holly,
Yes, procrastination has a very familiar ring to it - we were down in 11/92 and could've/should've bought at I believe $51 pp + park tickets. Vero Beach, we just stayed there for the 1st time this past September, it is some kind of beautiful area! Enjoy your cruise. - Bill

We did the exact thing last week on the Wonder(Feb 22-26). You let them know your intentions on board. Then you have 3 business days to contact DVC Member Services. We are booking a 4 day next Presidents week.

So I called MS on Feb 27 to let them know my intentions. I have to call back on March 22(11 month booking window) to complete my cruise reservation. You will only get a discount on points. There is no stateroom credit when using points for a 4 day.....only with cash.

We also did this after our Feb 7 cruise. We booked four staterooms using points (OMG!) and one with cash. Since we were booking a 4 night, we were not eligible for a stateroom credit. However, with the onboard discount - the cash room and the points rooms were about equal (actually, the points rooms (figuring at $10 a point) were just slightly less expensive. Plus, since all reservations through DVC were made in the same call, I only paid one $75 booking fee, and all the rooms were at the discounted onboard point rates.
