Do the points for the cruise include food. I know it will not inlcude drink but if it includes food could be worth a real consideration.

Many thanks.

Yes, it includes food. We booked a four nighter for this May using points.
I wouldn't book again using points, but not because it's not worth the points.
When you book through DVC they become the travel agent. If you need to make any changes, buy insurance, etc... you must go through your travel agent (DVC in this case). It can be very cumbersome, and non user friendly.

I much prefer just dealing directly with DCL. :smokin:

Thanks for this info. I have yearly worldwide travel insurance and would combine with a trip to WDW so would wish to purchase my flights from the UK.

If this is okay I will start looking into this interesting option.

Thank you.

I assume when you say drink you mean alcohol, if so then yes its not included in the price. However if you mean soft drinks then there is a drinks station on deck 9 which is free (coke, tea. coffee etc) and soft drinks are free with meals too.

We used point on our DCL cruise this past Dec. DVC MS were wonderful and we had no problems each time we called with a question. I didn't find the process cumbersome at all.

You will love the cruise!!

If you are staying at WDW before and after your cruise do Disney get you to the port by bus? If so do you leave your hire car at the resort while you are away? What about the rest of your cases? Can they be stored?

So many questions!!

We just did one week at SSR & one week on a disney cruise, and had the disney transportation take us to port canaveral. If I had the chance to do it over again, I would have used Mears or someother transport service to leave the day before, and spend the night in port canaveral (i think at the Raddison). We could have saved the points for next year.

What happened with us, is that we were supposed to be ready for the bus at 12:oo and really didn't give us time to do the parks that morning after checking out. The bus didn't actually leave until 1:15-1:30, and we were the last people on the boat. We could only get the waiting list for Palo, didn't have our luggage til after the drill, we got there too late for lunch, and had to be at musterstations for the drill at 4:15pm. I felt like we lost a day of our vacation traveling, and that the day could have been better spent if we got there early and used the pool, had lunch, etc..

This is very useful information. Could we have kept the rental car at the port somewhere or just recommend a taxi service like Mears?

Susan

Both times that we cruised from Pt. Canaveral we used Budget rental car. They have an office very near the port for drop off/pick up and a shuttle to take you to/from the dock. It has been no hassle for us either time. These were 1 way rentals from MCO and at a very reasonable price. We learned about this from Dis cruise board.

Parking at the port is quite expensive, I think.

We used Tiffany Towncar to the Port. DCL buses to the port are the same price aprrox. $240.00 for a family of 4 RT. Being driven was a convenience but next time I will rent a car and save about $150.00
