I have a question,
we want to book a DCL cruise spring 2022. In the past this cruise has been one of the 35% cruises for DVC. DVC has not released the list of cruises for 35% off for 2022 at this time.
We want to book it using partial future cruise credit from a cancelled cruise..and then we will add some cash, and pay for a couple of passengers with cash. The result is 6 passengers in 2 cabins. We want to get adjoining cabins and know they are avail now.
So if we book now with DCL. we know we can come back to DVC and use points to pay for 2 passengers, but at that time we will need to pay in full for the complete trip.
Question:
1 -- Is there a timeline on when you have to transfer over your DVC points to pay? Can we go up near final payment day to use those points.
2-- How does that work is the cruise is on the list for 35% off when paying with points or points and cash? Do we miss out on the 35% because we booked prior to the list coming out, and our rate is locked in?
I have tried to talk to DVC customer service, I send an email and got back a nice form letter saying please call us. I'm not sitting on the phone for 6hrs to deal with this. I was on the phone about another cruise we booked with points that canceled and we rescheduled. It took 2 phone calls and about 6hr wait the first call and about 4.5-5hrs the second call. DVC members services needs to address the long wait times. A simple call back service would be nice.
I sent an email to see if it would get a better response. 16 days later I got a form letter to call them and they will help me out.
Since DVC seems to be a big mystery on how to play the system and get the things you need done. Can any of you folks help out with your experience on booking Disney Cruise Line with points and cash.
Thanks
