I'm trying rent/purchase points for a DVC resort. I was wondering if you can rent/purchase points from multiple DVC members?
How exactly will that work? If I need 154 points and someone is offering 100 pts, can I rent/purchase 54 points from another DVC?

Thanks in advance on clarification!

Since you are not the member, the points are worthless to you. The member must make the reservation and must have enough points to make full night reservations. You really aren't purchasing points, you are purchasing a reservation from a member.

You will not be able to confirm the reservation or call Member Services for any reason. The member will be required to do all of that. The member can send you a copy of the confirmation sheet. Or you can call the resort directly a few days before you arrive to confirm the reservation (they transfer the reservation to the resort a few days ahead of time).

You are much better off , renting the whole reservation from one Member for the exact amount of points that you need, but having said that, it is possible to rent points from two different members for your trip. Each point total must match a set amount of nights independently of the other point total. For example if you need 10 nights for your vacation you could rent enough points from member#1 for 5 nights and rent 5 more nights from an entirely different member. You must be comfortable with the members renting as they will be in charge of your reservation not you. You will be sent a slip confirming your reservation but it really isn't worth the paper it is printed on if the member decides to cancel your reservation with disney..

I have rented over 8 times from different members on this board, and all have been painfree honest exchanges. You can check on your reservation if the member you rented from is willing to do a conference call with you to member services but they won't deal with you directly. Beaware that renting is the first step toward owning DVC as the experience is beyond what you get from a regular Disney hotel room even in the nicest deluxes.

Good luck,
Joan
