My family and I visited the Walt Disney World Resort this past week and we toured the 2-bedroom open house villa at Disney's BoardWalk Resort. Although I had seen the rooms before, two members of my family had not and wanted to view them.

While touring the villa, the DVC representative asked if we were members and said that we should add-on now, if we want more points, because a price increase is scheduled for the near future. The representative did not know our names because we neither signed in nor provided them.

Today, my guide called to inform me that one of my sold-out resort waitlist requests had come through and suggested that I not pass on the points because of an upcoming pricing change.

Perhaps a price increase is scheduled before the initial offering of Disney's Rivera Resort?

CCV is now 75% declared so sales are brisk. High demand means higher prices plus they tend to increase prices so Riviera won't be a big jump in price.

You can be sure of one thing about DVC: a price increase will eventually happen.
Just be aware that every time DVC increased purchase price in the past, they gave people a bit of notice, just to rush people into buying with the old price. I would not rush to buy in fear of a price increase that has not been announced yet.

The DVC fiscal year ends October 31, 2018 and the start of the next fiscal year will bring a price increase.

It makes sense. This way they can charge over $200 per point for Riviera and it will be "cheap" in comparison. I would expect the biggest jumps to be for BCV and BWV, to make Rivera seem that much better in comparison, and probably BLT, to bring it up to the level of the other MK resorts and make CCV seem that much better in comparison.
